Subscribers disappointed with broadband service

Unshaped? - Luxury!

Shaped is like a dead slug in pressurised treacle. :mad:

Well, of course, we had it tough. We used to 'ave to get up out of shoebox at twelve o'clock at night and lick road clean wit' tongue. We had two bits of cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at mill for sixpence every four years, and when we got home our Dad would slice us in two wit' bread knife

"The service, where most of the surveyed users indicated that the service performed better than expected or exactly as expected, was Telkom’s ADSL 384 offering."

Ok, who were the wise-asses who said the service performed better than expected?

Well, I suppose if you don't expect a 384 'offering' to perform as well as your old 2400 bps dial-up, then you would have 'indicated that the service performed better than expected or exactly as expected'.

Perhaps people are amazed that it works at all - such is the sheer horror and terror of Telkom, who make the Marquis de Sade and the Spanish Inquisition look like well meaning amateurs

I would have said is was working as expected and i would think I am pretty informed, so uninfromed people can easily think it works even better than they would expect, as in webpages open very fast. From what I heard about the 4Mbps lines, they dont perform as expected and most wireless is just :sick:

Unshaped DSL performs like a 384-512k line on HTTP. All else seems hunky dory. Seems they still shape the HTTP portion, no doubt due to it going via the web cache servers.

6% of respondents indicated that the service exceeded expectations
What!? :eek::confused:

it's a best efford service...wel it works, wel sortoff works.
