Reading the book The Miracle of Self-Discipline by Brian Tracy. He says:
"Successful people make a habit of doing what unsuccessful people don't like to do."

It turns out what successful people don't like to do is the same thing unsuccessful people don't like to do, but successful people do it anyway, because they recognise that's the price of success.

What is it that unsuccessful people don't like to do that successful people [-]like to[/-] do?

Great fan of Tracy and this phenomenon is called the Expediency Factor.

Do yourself a favour and read his book on Self Confidence. Packs quite a punch.

Could it have anything to do with working hard? :p

Successful people also tend to work for themselves.

Not confined to working hours, seeing the job through even when it seems impossible and the determination to succeed.

Good summary. I would usually say Check to that ...but it would come with terms and conditions.

It's unlikely that either of those are true sufficient conditions. They may not even be necessary conditions.

Successful people work smart - not necessarily hard or for themselves.

Why work hard for 8 hours a day if you can swing it in a way where you can work for only 4 to do the same thing. Then if you decide to work the other 4 your can effectively double your daily output.

Also if you don't own the business you don't necessarily have a vested interest in it's success or failure - which can be separate from your own success or failure.

But it's more difficult to work smarter. Some people are as thick as clots which keeps them from ever being successful.
