Well logged onto iburst website, shows that i have been migrated to the new 8 gig offering. Was on the pro classic 3.5 gig. Happy about this, but not so happy about having to top up after February 2010. Will see how it goes, but happy days for now.

I logged on now. Its says I have 0MB left but there is the following message as well: 'Thank you for your patience while we upgrade our systems'

I wish I could actually log in to migrate from the old 5GB package (Xtreme) to the Wireless 8 package

EDIT: I've resorted to sending them an email. I hope they sort out their website issues soon as this is becoming extremely frustrating, never mind giving them an unprofessional appearance.

i have not been migrated yet i logged in like 5 mins ago.. and im still on my pro 3 gig package

I was hoping I'd be migrated because MWEB had the stupid "Usage - (December, 2009)
There is a problem with your account. Please call 086 0112252." message on for most of today.

As is, I'm still on the old package. What also sucks is that speeds are down, getting 22KB/sec on a dual threaded http download, meanwhile at this time of day it was usually 60-80KB/sec.

They should just...

COPY 10GBUserList.txt 15GBUserList.txt
COPY 5GBUserList.txt 8GBUserList.txt
COPY ... etc.

With a fast SATA2 7200RPM HDD it should only take them a few minutes - most time spent on typing. LOL.

If only.....:)

Why is everyone happy

Why is everyone so happy about the migration we all getting nailed.

Throttled accounts are gone you now will have to make do with 2GB on your old 1 Giga throttled 64K account and still pay the same amount.

if you would like a throttled account then you have to have a 5GB package to qualify for the 64K throttle, which by the way will cost you R199 extra per month so that will set you back over R600 per month.

At the same time screamer is offering uncapped wireless for just under R500 per month and on a 386KB speed a lot cheaper than Iburst and faster.

So anyone that bought an iburst modem because the 1 Giga throttled option seemed reasonable is now stuck with the modem and have to buy new modem when switching to screamer.

Anyway unless i have the information totally wrong which I don't think I have I want iburst to buy back my modem cancel my contract and i would like to move to screamer.

I need a good lawyer that specialises in contracts so I can force iburst to provide me with the service my contract was intended for or buy back my modem, does anyone know the legalities behind a company that changes your contract options like iburst just did?

Screamer's wireless is limited in coverage, I understand, and you have to pay extra for equipment rental - no?

you get 3 months 'free' throttle on new package.
you will be contacted by iburst if you want to remain on new package or go back to old one!

thats the way i understand it!

they can't just change your contract.

should mean free gigs!

Nope

Nope according to the email that's the new packages the throttled accounts will still run for 3 months and then they are gone.

Then if you still want Throttled accounts you will have to upgrade to the %GB package or 8GB package, pay an arm and a leg and get throttled account.

That's the way it was email to me and that's the way the new pricing works and I agree they can't just change your contract should they feel like it but I'm no contract lawyer, but will find out what the legal implications are regarding this, I'm not happy at all, might as well keep my 3G then speeds are faster than iburst and just about as expensive.

Still on old package as well, no email from iBurst either as yet.

Says I've downloaded 3.61mb (accurate), but 0 remaining :S
