Sudden surge in SPAM emails?

As of 4:34:14AM this morning I have received 3 SPAM emails on my main Ananzi email account that has in the past received a whopping total of about <10 of these things. I, to the best of my knowledge, did not do anything in the past 24 hours that could have caused this. Anyone suddenly getting some spam emails too? :confused:

I still have to work through the headers of the emails though. Wonder what that will reveal. :cool:
 
my domain is getting more than 10000 spams a day, has been for some months now. a real pain in the @rse as one still needs to check for non-spam before deleting.

It's also one of the major causes of 'net overload, especially on our narrow pipes

My domain got about 10-20 Spam mails a day. I applied the Spam filter and some other filters by hand e.g. I blocked all emails that suddenly went to "temp"@domain.com. Now I'm down to 0-1 of these spam mails. :D

And I doubt that I'm deleting any legit emails though.

I use a gmail account to sanitize the mail. It saves on my cap if I kill spam from outside of my system.

Lol, I will have to go all out if I even want to make a dent in my 12.5GB of Bandwidth allowance on my host. But yes, Google is rather good with spam detection.
 
I just don't post my email addr online (without @NoSpam@).

The worse spam is on hotmail. I swear the hotmail employees sell lists of addresses. I registered, but never even sent a mail. Second day I get 3 Spam. A few days later its 20 per day. Without even using/posting the address anywhere. wtf??? Hotmail ftl x2
