Suggest a phone for four thousand!

MiddlebornMoose, wishes to purchase a mobile device for herself, using all her savings which amounts to a sum of R4000.

What are the current deals? What's the best bang for her bucks then?

No contract as she will be taking the mobile back to Nam with her...

Please suggest a good phone for Her in the R4000 range...

Huawei G7. Try one out at Cell C and Edgars and thank me later :)

It's got a massive front camera for those all important selfies.

Anything Mini from Samsung is a ripoff.

Probably a rip-off. But I took into consideration that she is a teenager and the size and weight of the S4 mini may suit her better.
 
Despite her wishes, I think a second hand S5. I also find the Samsung minis to be a ripoff.
 
IMO, smaller screen size will always be a disappointment. The benefits of larger screen size outweigh the ever so slight supposed ease of use for those with small hands. Nothing worse than smaller video, fonts, etc.

Maybe, but that's a personal choice I suppose. I know most of the girls in my office have the S4 mini and loving it.

What is the cut off date for you to purchase the phone?It takes orange about 2 weeks to deliver a phone.

She shot it down after reading a review that said it's camera was slow and the software could be a bit niggly...

This is a good opportunity to impart some wisdom. Advise her to buy a Motorola Moto G 2014 edition for R2500 from orange store, and not blow all her savings on a gadget.

It just isn't worth it for her to blow all of it on a phone.
 
Her only options are Huawei G7, or if you add 800 more, the moto x 2nd gen. She wont like the moto g.It is too plastic, fat and ugly.

By the way the Huawei G7 has a sony camera and doesnt take ****ty pictures.

Upcoming phones(late may)

Sony m4 aqua : in your price range and looks premium
Huawei P8 lite: looks premium and in your price range
 
LG G2 32GB or Xperia Z1 Compact from Orange (R4300 and R3900 respectively)
For a little more you can get the G3 or the fantastic Xperia Z3 compact.
