I am at wits end here. Have now looked at 3 different HP notebook models, out of the website selection HP South Africa only imports the lowest spec models, all with CPU, HDD and GPU's dating technology from 3 years ago. To even try and look for a model with a built-in 3G card is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

So, stuff the "standardization" on HP products, can anyone please enlighten me as to other reputable notebook manufacturers that could supply me with a notebook with the following specification:

Intel Core2Duo T9550 or Intel Core2Duo P8700
2 x 4Gb DDR3 (total 8Gb) operating in dual-channel mode
Any size SSD
Discreet graphics (ATI or Nvidia)
Built-in 3G

Thanks for helping :)

P8800 2.6Ghz
4GB Ram
Ati 4650 1Gb dedicated
500Gb HD

I don't think even HP CTO offers SSD HD--think you'll need to do yourself

Sony had a similiar spec model here in SA for 13K if your into Viaos
For the monstor spec's you have re DDR3 & SSD i think you'll need to find some sort of CTO - Dell maybe

Or talk to this guy to build you the likes of this

We use Dell in our company and the laptops are excellent. They also have a next business day replacement policy if anything goes wrong.

Look at the XPS or Studio range.

Sony's you pay for the brand, as said on here you won't go wrong with Lenovo or Dell

Its amazing how he can offer a Z-series for approximately US$3,000, which is R22,500. The list price for the equivalent model in SA is R30,000.

Nice to live in the "home of the scammers" where we get ripped off by importers like this.
