Arsenal innocent?? How many of these youth players they sign from continental europe do they approach before they approach the club??
The fifa law is a farce. It's not the way business is done in continental europe, never has been and never will be. a Law is useless if it can't be enforced and this law can never be enforced. It's impossible to prove 99.9% cases of so called tapping up. The only you actually get caught is if you are stupid like mourinho and chelsea and get caught in the hotel room with the player.
The italian, spanish and the other continental teams are way to smart to get caught like that. They use middle men and intermediaries to talk to players and tell them about proposed deals. These are virtually impossible to prove any connection with the clubs.
Nah there is a difference, the youth players you refer to ie ; cesc and merida, had no professional contracts... so perfectly legal and no need to talk to barca
How many times do you hear Wenger / Ferguson saying in the press that they want X player and are willing to pay him X amount?
Or taking other teams players out for 'ice creams' before talking to their clubs
For the most part Liverpool/Arsenal/United play by the rules.. chelsea not so much tho
Villa Angling For Barca Or Madrid? The 26-year-old has starred for La Furia Roja at EURO 2008, scoring four goals in two games to become arguably the hottest property in world football.
Already widely tipped to leave Valencia after the club’s hugely disappointing La Liga campaign, Villa’s performances in Austria and Switzerland has drawn a host of would-be buyers to the negotiating table.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is desperate to sign the ex-Real Zaragoza hitman to replace likely leaver Didier Drogba, but The Sun reports that Villa will refuse to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.
While the Langreo-born forward is keen to move from the Mestalla, he is reluctant to leave Spain and is more interested in potential offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
However, a Premier League switch is not out of the question, as Villa has previously stated his admiration for Arsenal and their attractive style of play as well.
But given his impressive partnership at international level with Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, Merseyside looks the most likely of all possible English destinations, as Reds boss Rafa Benitez seeks to increase his attacking options over the summer.
Reports in Spain also suggest that he wants to remain in La Liga, and that the money in the Premier League is not something he will make his decision based on.
"Money means nothing,” stated Villa. “Of course everyone works to earn money, but if you are not happy then material things mean nothing.
”My only target in life is to get better at my job.”
FERGIE WILL QUIT IF UNITED SELL OFF RONALDO BEHIND HIS BACKSIR Alex Ferguson has confided to close friends that he would walk out on Manchester United if Cristiano Ronaldo is sold without his consent.
The Daily Express broke the story on Saturday that Real Madrid plan to outflank Ferguson and chief executive David Gill by lodging a £75million bid directly to the owners, the Glazer family, in America.
But a well-informed source said: “Sir Alex has put his foot down.
“He is so adamant that if the club dared to cash in on Ronaldo against his wishes, it wouldn’t surprise me if he walked out.”
Ronaldo has said ‘yes’ to a £300,000-a-week offer from Real to his agent – a five-year contract worth a staggering £75m in personal terms, putting him top of football’s global pay stakes.
Ferguson knows it is pointless United offering Ronaldo a pay rise from the current £125,000-a-week deal he signed only last summer as they could not match Real’s package.
The United boss has said he will retire within the next three years, but he would bring forward his decision and could walk away immediately, or stay for one more season until United find his successor, should they sell Ronaldo against his wishes.
Ferguson will only sanction Real’s bid if he believes it is in the best interests of the team and, as yet, he still believes it is possible to bring Ronaldo back and exorcise the spectre of Real and their huge offer from the player’s mind.
That will test the managerial talents of even the vastly experienced Ferguson as Ronaldo apparently has “psyched” himself for the switch and does not want to return to Old Trafford.
Ronaldo accepts, though, that he might have to go back and face the famous ‘hairdryer’ treatment.
And with United intimating, so far, that they would turn down any official written transfer request and that they are not interested in the money or swap deals, a bid lodged direct to the Glazers ups the ante.
The only way Ferguson could justify such a sale is if he felt he could buy two or three world-class performers.
You know the story is b/s when the source is a 'close friend' or 'cousin' or the man that washes fergies pet poodle

hahaha right on nivek
a close friend would not have said anything nor would ferguson have confided in anyone who he did not trust
Bentley wants out, whoever Rovers name as manager
Blackburn's winger David Bentley has confirmed that he wants to leave Ewood Park this summer regardless of who is appointed as Mark Hughes' successor.
The Rovers chairman, John Williams, remains on course to install a manager by the end of this week, with Paul Ince and Sam Allardyce the leading candidates for the job. Blackburn's next manager, however, will have to operate without the influential Bentley after the England international revealed that he had decided to leave even before Hughes' departure for Manchester City.
"I made it clear to the club what I wanted to do. The situation is I want to move on. I want to be playing Champions League football, or in Europe," the 23-year-old said yesterday. "I've been here for three years and I love the club and I love playing for them but I feel like I've done everything I can. I want a new challenge. I believe I have done as much as I can at the club and want to push on somewhere else."
Bentley's Blackburn future has been in doubt for several months, with Liverpool among those interested in the £12m-rated midfielder since he informed Hughes of his decision last season. "I discussed things with the manager then and the chairman and I made it clear I wanted to move on," added the former Arsenal trainee. "Their situation has changed but mine hasn't. I need to be pushing on and moving on and that is what I am looking to do."
Money from the winger's sale and the anticipated departure of Roque Santa Cruz will be reinvested in the Blackburn squad this summer and Williams is confident of achieving his self-imposed timescale for appointing a new manager. The Rovers chairman met Allardyce last week and will continue the interview process today, with Ince, manager of MK Dons, expected to be formally approached having resisted an invitation to speak to Leicester City.
Other names on the Blackburn shortlist include Steve McClaren and Dick Advocaat; Henk ten Cate has agreed to join Panathinaikos. Williams said: "We are still on target to make an appointment by the end of the week. We've got some busy days ahead but if all goes to plan then we should be in a position to make an announcement by the weekend."
Its the same way with a lot of rumours intially they start out like this and then you get the full story eg.Ronaldo transfer rumour.
This is from the TIMES so its a valid source not a tabloid.
Riise To Join Roma By End Of WeekRiise has been at Liverpool since joining them from Monaco in 2001, however he is now surplus to requirements following the arrival of Udinese full back Andrea Dossena.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has admitted that he will allow Riise to leave, and Roma have been already begun negotiations to sign the 27-year-old.
The Merseysiders are currently demanding just over €5m, while Roma are only prepared to pay €4m. Despite this, it seems likely that a compromise can be found, and reports in Italy and England suggest that Riise could be a Roma player by the end of the week.
The Norwegian international has come out in the press stating that he would be interested in a move to the Stadio Olimpico, and there should be no problems with regards to personal terms.
Roma are in desperate need of a left back, as they went through the whole of last season with just one senior option in the form of Max Tonetto.
