Ronaldo Agrees Terms With Real
Reports emanating from Spain claim that the Portuguese star, who is currently in Switzerland on international duty, has agreed to join the Spanish champions on a five-year deal.

It is believed that Ramón Calderón is ready to fulfill Ronaldo's wishes by rewarding him with €9.5 million per season.

The Manchester United player confirmed to Terra yesterday that he would like to play for Real Madrid as long as the Merengues were ready to offer him and Manchester United what has been reported.

With Ronaldo and Real allegedly in the same page, the Spanish outfit must now begin negotiations with The Red Devils, which won't easy as Alex Ferguson wants to keep the number 7 in his ranks.

It is reported that Real Madrid are willing to put together an offer of €100 million for the Portuguese, which, if completed, will be the most expensive transfer fee in football history.

Milan plan £32m bid for Emmanuel Adebayor
The Italian giants have already prised midfielder Mathieu Flamini from the Emirates Stadium this summer. And sources in Italy claim manager Carlo Ancelotti, fresh from spurning Chelsea's advances to take over at Stamford Bridge, is set to turn his attention towards buying Adebayor.

The Togo international, who joined Arsenal from Monaco for £7 million in January 2006, took on the responsibility of leading Arsene Wenger's attack last season after Thierry Henry was sold to Barcelona. And the 24-year-old responded by scoring 30 goals in all competitions.

Sources in Italy claim Adebayor met officials of the Italian club this week and agreed to move to the seven-time European champions. But those reports are at odds with his most recent statements, in which he claimed he was determined to help Arsenal win the Premier League next season.

Adebayor, who returned to his homeland this week to receive the BBC's African Footballer of the Year award, revealed he was devastated to miss out on silverware last season and admitted the desire for players to move abroad was motivated solely by money.

He said: "If you move, it is about money. When we were young we played because we love the game and we were passionate about it. But now, when you reach this stage you are thinking about the Champions League and big things like that.

"Whenever I come back to my country people love me. If I didn't go to Europe for money, what else would it be for?"

Arsenal were in contention to win the Premier League and Champions League before four consecutive draws in March scuppered their hopes in the league, and a late collapse against Liverpool at Anfield ended their European hopes.

Wenger's side attracted praise for their attacking football, but finished trophy-less for the third consecutive season. Adebayor conceded he would sacrifice attacking principles to win the biggest prizes.

He said: "If you gave me the option of playing beautiful football and winning nothing, or playing ugly and winning then obviously it would be the latter. You are judged on what you win. We play in a great team with a great manager, but we don't want to play beautiful football just to put smiles on the faces of the fans."

AC Milan finished fifth in Serie A last season, outside of the Champions League places, and require an injection of youth to lower their average age.

Having spent £12 million on Brazilian prodigy Alexandre Pato last January, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has reportedly baulked at Arsenal's initial £32 million valuation, but Ancelotti appears to have made him his top target. On Wednesday, AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani revealed he had spoken to Chelsea about Didier Drogba and Andrei Shevchenko. But Ancelotti is keen to add pace and power to his attack and is anxious that, at 30, Drogba does not represent a sound long-term investment, while the fitness of another reputed target, Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o, is a cause for concern. Adebayor, however, fits Ancelotti's requirements perfectly.

FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur FC have come to an agreement for the transfer of Giovani Dos Santos to the English club.

FC Barcelona also maintain 20% of the financial rights to any possible transfer of the player during his first two years of contract and 10% on any transfer from his new club, Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Giovani dos Santos, aged 19, joined Barça in 2002/03 and joined the Infantil A (Under 15) squad, eventually making his first team debut in 2007/08, in which he has played an intermittent part in Frank Rijkaard’s first team.

Barca wraps up Alves Deal

Barcelona have agreed terms with Sevilla to sign Brazilian Fullback Dani Alves. They have been pursuing the player for two seasons now with Sevilla reluctant to sell him but spannish paper Sport claims that a deal has been reached with only minor details left to be sorted out.

Txiki Begiristain and Marc Ingla met with Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido and both parties decided to agree on a €32 million deal which could rise to €35 million depending on how well the wing-back does at Camp Nou.

According to Sport, everything has been cleared and all that is needed is confirmation from both clubs in order to finalize and make the transfer official.

The Spanish paper claims that an inside source has informed them that the deal will be resolved by telephone or fax within the next few hours.

The meeting between the clubs dragged on as Del Nido did not want to part company with his player for anything less than €35m with Barcelona offering less than €30m.

However, Del Nido settled for €32m for Alves to make a €31m profit on the player he signed for $1m from Bahia in 2002

No Champions League Chance For Milan - UEFA
The Rossoneri were hoping they would be able to squeeze themselves into the competition after both Porto and CSKA Sofia were kicked out of the competition after breaking various UEFA guidelines.

Reports in Italy claimed the Rossoneri had a great chance of being given a place in next season’s competition. However, UEFA have revealed that there is no chance of this happening.

“It is absolutely impossible that Milan play in next season’s Champions League,” said UEFA spokesman, William Gaillard.

“The participants are not chosen based on the highest co-efficient but on the number of teams a country is allowed to enter.

“Therefore there is no possibility whatsoever of Milan playing in the Champions League next season.”

Milan will have to settle for the UEFA Cup as expected. Failure to qualify for the Champions League was down to Milan’s own downfall following a less than perfect campaign.

I would have liked to have seen them in the next champs league.

Wooooo Wooooooo

Eto'o Wants Milan
The striker’s agent Jose Maria Mesalles met with Milan chief Adriano Galliani in Milan on Friday evening and the pair spoke about an economic deal for the Barcelona striker.

Eto’o wants an €8m per season deal but Milan only want to offer €7m because the club is afraid other players in the squad will ask for better salaries.

Talks are still on-going as Milan try and reach a deal for the player and Bronzetti reveals that Eto’o is keen on the idea of a switch to San Siro.

“Eto’o has expressed his desire to come to Milan,” Bronzetti told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

“We have met with Eto’o’s agent after president Laporta gaves us permission to.

“The idea is a four-five year deal and if we reach an agreement with the player then we will hold talks with Barcelona."

The Rossoneri have already signed one player from the Blaugrana when they took on Gianluca Zambrotta last week.

They are now trying hard to lure Eto’o to San Siro as they strengthen in order to mount a serious Scudetto challenge next season.

Ya, knew he wouldnt consider any Premier league clubs.

Alves deal is a mega signing. He is now is the most expensive defender that Barca has signed in their history.

Our defence looks solid now. Anticipating how Pique will be performing. We bought Caceras, he is very good.

There are a lot of dissapointed teams out there today, as they believed Alves may have signed with them.

The way its building up, this Barca team may rival the team of 2006!
