The french are saying Lampard to Inter is also done. If that's the price I say we got him pretty cheap. But I suppose only 1 year left and the threat of the fifa article 17 played a role.

Frank Lampard 'agrees deal' with Inter Milan
Inter Milan were last night reported to have reached agreement on a deal for Frank Lampard, although Chelsea sources maintain that they have still received no offer from the Italian champions.

Lampard only returned from holiday on Thursday and it is understood that he will hold talks with Chelsea over the next few days to determine his future.

He is the main transfer target of Inter, who are now managed by Jose Mourinho, though Lampard said after the Champions League final that he was "pretty confident" of staying at Chelsea.

Lampard has one year remaining on his Chelsea contract but, according to France Football, will move to Inter for £7.1 million on a four-year deal.

Inter president Massimo Moratti yesterday said that the club were looking for one attacking midfielder and two wingers.

"Mourinho is not a demanding coach," Morattie said. "He's not interested in making useless interventions, but just a few targeted changes."

The future of Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, after a season in which he scored 30 times for the north London club, is pulling towards AC Milan and Barcelona.

It would be hard to imagine a greater contrast between the West African city of Lome, with its voodoo market, coffee and cocoa-bean wharves and refineries than the Museums Quarter of Vienna, where Adebayor chose to discuss his future.

He was reminded of one of the pivotal incidents of his life. His career at Monaco had drifted into insignificance and he was back home in the capital of Togo playing football with his friends when his mobile rang. It was Arsene Wenger asking about his future.

Surely, Adebayor was asked, given how this man rescued his career, did he not owe the Arsenal manager some loyalty? The answer was revealing. "Of course, that is why he is like a father to me; that is why I love him a lot," the striker said.

"But he bought me because he believed in my quality. He didn't buy me because I am from Togo, or because I needed money or because I look beautiful. He bought me because he thought I could do something good for the club.

"He put me where I am today, no doubt about that. But, if he sells me and if what they say in the newspapers is right, they are going to get 50 million euros, maybe 60 million for me and they bought me for 10 million. So everyone is getting the benefits."

In reality, Arsenal paid Monaco £3 million for Adebayor in January 2006 and can expect to sell him to either Milan or Barcelona for 10 times that sum. And despite Wenger's public statements, which included sending a fax to Milan, saying the 24-year-old was not for sale "for money or gold", the manager's position may be rather more ambivalent.

His is a similar dilemma to that faced by Rafael Benitez when confronted with Chelsea's £32million offer for Steven Gerrard in the summer of 2005. Benitez knew that money could offer him the chance to rebuild Liverpool's squad, and three years on, so does Wenger.

Both men were in Vienna yesterday; Adebayor on a trip to promote Adidas's boots and Wenger with French television. There were no plans to meet, although Adebayor said he would confer first with his agent and then with his manager next week - when he will be given Arsenal's response to his request for an improved contract.

"It will not be a difficult decision," he said when asked about his future. "I am just going to sit down and decide what is best for my career. I have asked Arsenal to look at my contract and see what they want to do. I have a promise from Arsene that they will call me next week. I want my future settled before July 21, when we are due to start work for the new season."

Man City agree fee with CSKA Moscow for Brazilian striker Jo

Manchester City have agreed a fee with CSKA Moscow for Brazilian striker Jo, according to media reports.

It is understood that the protracted transfer for the 21-year-old Brazil international, which is understood to be worth £19 million, could be concluded early next week.

CSKA president Yevgeny Giner said: “It’s the right price for Jo. I think it would be wrong now not to let the player move to England.

“If Manchester City settle the issues regarding a visa, then the transfer will take place.”

City have been tracking Jo since the end of last season and is set to become the first signing for new City manager Mark Hughes.

Jo has scored 30 goals in 53 appearances for CSKA Moscow.

The way his splashing the cash I wonder how strong Man city are going to be next season.

Things on the transfer front will only really start rolling this week. The transfer window officially opens on Tuesday. Some clubs don't announce deals until they can actually register the players which they can only do from 1 July onwards .

It goes without saying that you can bypass most Tribal Football posts without saying, there will most likely be a corresponding article from one of the British news papers that they plagiarised.

Sometimes you have to wonder about some of these managers , how they justify the players that they buy.

Looking at this one as an example : Johan Elmander

The player has provided his reasoning : "It is difficult to explain but when something is right, you just get a feeling,"

I don't much care for Bolton Wanderers, but why would you go out and pay £11 million , for a player that averages 22 goals every 2 seasons , so roughly about 11 goals per season and that is in the Swedish Superliga and League 1 in France. So in 4 years as a striker he has scored 44 goals, what a massive return.

Reading have been relegated with their top scorer reaching 10 goals in the league for that season.

Armchair managers, I tell you!

Quaresma has signed for Inter - Reports
Yet to be confirmed by either club

And they are using tribal football as a source for some of the transfers...hmmmm....

Here is a more accurate list
http://www.goal.com/en/transfertzone.aspx

That's because the deal isn't done yet. They are close to agreeing but not 100% yet. There is an agreement with the player. I expect the deal to be done in the next two weeks. Jose wants all 3 signings there when pre season starts on 15 July.

For those who like to follow Italian teams this is the best source for done transfers:http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/calcioMercato2008/

Just click on which club you want to see's logo. Acquisti is players bought,Cessioni is players sold,Trattative is targets.

Some of the players listed are guys back from loans so not all players bought resulted in money being spend.

Robinho Agent Confirms Chelsea Interest

Madrid-based sports daily As claims that Roman Abramovich's Chelsea have tabled a bid of €35m for the unsettled Brazilian winger, and his representative is now anticipating to be approached by the English giants directly.

“It is not new but now with the arrival of Scolari to the bench they have increased the contact,” Ribeiro told the Daily Star.

“I expect there to be an official contact between the clubs this week after the end of the Euros.”

Apparently Scolari is particularly eager to land his former protégé, who was on the fringes of the Brazilian national team during the coach's tenure as Seleçao boss.

At present Robinho is back in his hometown of Santos with his wife and son for a holiday, but needless to say this will not stand in the way of his agent doing his job and wheeling and dealing on his behalf.

Spurs Want £10m For Lennon - Report

Lennon, 21, has had a hit-and-miss time at White Hart Lane, never quite fulfilling his potential in the eyes of many and was thought to be unwanted by new Spurs boss Juande Ramos.

Club sources have since indicated the tricky winger is not one of the players Ramos wishes to sell, but nevertheless there is interest from Newcastle United remains and The People speculates that the England international would command approximately £10 million in the transfer market.

There were also rumours he may be on his way to Ewood Park to join Paul Ince's Blackburn Rovers revolution, with want-away star player David Bentley thought to be heading the other way, but these claims too havev been denied.
