Summer Transfers

Over the past years, England have proven not to produce consistent or dare i even say any really good players.

Lets hope Jack can carry thru and produce the goods.

What about Theo Walcott, Michael Manccienne, Joe Hart, Wayne Rooney (dont 4get hes only 22).. etc.??????

Theo Walcott is the new Wayne Rooney. I dont rate Theo that highly in world football.

Joe Hart is nothing

Michael Manccienne plays championship football. He doesnt even play in the premier league.

Wayne Rooney - Do you really want me to give my views on Wayne Rooney? :D

As i have said, England have not produced any player worthy of world status. At least they do not produce consistant players.

Wenger: Credit Crunch May Hit Transfer Market
The world's wealthiest club Manchester City may be exempt to the rule, as the Abu Dhabi based business group reportedly paid Real Madrid £32 million for Robinho in just one installment.

For the rest of the Premier League though the credit crunch may effect the football market when the transfer window reopens in January.

Credit Crunch

"Football might not be an isolated island where nothing happens financially," Wenger told journalists at Thursday's pre-match press conference.

"Football will suffer just as much as any other activity in our society.

"We will see," the Frenchman continued. "It is very difficult to anticipate on that. I don’t know what will happen in January. We are in a world of recession and at the moment we have deflation rather than inflation."

Arsenal have been rocked with further injury trouble as Theo Walcott returned from England international duty with a dislocated shoulder that is expected to sideline the pacey winger until March and there have been calls for Wenger to buy replacement in the new year.

Meanwhile, tall defender Daniel Van Buyten, Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour, and Atletico Madrid defensive midfielder Koke Resurreccion have all been linked with a move to north London.

Interesting read. Thanks. Can't say any of the three listed player rings to many bells. Who knows more about them?

doubt it, at first they come out firing, winning games by 4,5 or 6 goals, but when it gets to the latter stages and the pressure mounts then they fall apart.

not only do they lose the game, they abandon all hope after that, remember that game last season when arsenal drew against blackburn(i think) and gallas started crying because he knew united and chelsea would take top two spots

Was that not against Birmingham...In his defence(never thaught I would say that) it was a very emotional game as eduardo was on the receiving end of the worst tackle i have ever seen. Think cesc was also close to tears in that match

@ headsore
Daniel Van Buyten is a very tall/big defender who seems to score regularly for Bayern. I remember him scoring twice against Real in the Champions League last season(Or was it the season before last) as Bayern knocked them out.
As for Defour, he played against us a couple of months back and i was VERY impressed with his performance. Big, strong, fast and great vision. He was their best player for me but Everton baught his partner in CM Felaine for 15 million pounds. Never heard of the other player though.

Read about ressurection on goal.com... apparently a 16/17 yo (cant remember which) that is (surprise surprise) being touted as the next big thing. apparently (ie: havent seen him myself but going on what i have read in various places) very similar to maka and gattuso. dont think it would be a good buy to shore up their midfield currently, but deffo one for the future (havent we all heard that before:))

Imagine this had to happen.

Manchester City Preparing €130m Bid For Buffon And ***a?

Everyone will rush for the January sales, but Manchester City aren't looking for bargains - they're willing to pay top dollar as they prepare to break the bank...
