Sunsync batteries 10kw

I already have 1 x 10kw Sunsync so have to go for the 10kw battries, as I understand it, you cant mix and match the sizes
You can mix sizes. All that happens is the bigger battery takes more of the load but evens out at the end.

There’s also a new device called an iBMS which is a little board that converts comms to whatever protocol battery and inverter needs so you can also mix brands and bms’ now.

Check how many different batteries this oke has paralleled all with comms to the victron using iBMS board:

My friends are thinking of adding another 16kWh sunsynk that they paid R80k for:

Will we be the first mixing sunsynk and deye batteries?

My installer spoke to the agnets and they said its risky, and mixing makes and sizes is dangerous - so I dont know who to believe
Sunsynk is made by Deye so I don’t see it as mixing brands. Mixing different sizes is also fine. I’ll look for a video that demonstrates this by paralleling a tiny battery with a giant battery. Nothing blows up, everything works automatically.

Just don’t mix lfp with nmc (different voltage curves) and dont mix 15s with 16s (also because 15s has a lower voltage than 16s). I think pylontech are 15s batteries.

15 x 3.2V = 48V
16 x 3.2V = 51.2V

So all that matters is the voltages are the same when paralleling.

Getting 5x of those batts for my new solar install. Okes started mounting rails on the roof yesterday. Will hopefully be commissioning at the end of the week.
5x16=80kWh. How many solar panels are you using?

Yeah, those guys dont know what they are talking about. If all 16 cell its fine, different brands and capacity doesnt matter as @wingnut771 says. Just run in voltage mode if comms is an issue.

Or get the iBMS board if comms are important to you. The only benefit of comms is seeing battery soc% which is often incorrect anyway.

I think the Sunsynk batteries can only push out a maximum of :

15kw battery = 7kw
10kw battery = 5kw

keep that in mind...

I was pushing 200A yesterday (10kW) on a 16kWh sunsynk battery. BMS says 300A max on the screen but only have 200A breaker.
