Hi all. Can anybody assist or point me in the right direction.
Want to change from solarman to Sunsynk dongle but it seems nobody is selling the dongles separately. Apparently people are using them on DEYE invertors.

Unable to assist :
GC Solar
Herholdts
Ellies
Solarman
Segen

Any reason for the change though? I have solarman and I am not going to change anytime soon...

Im using solar assistant instead of the sunsynk dongle. Much better

Main reason: the ability to remotely change settings.
And the ability to upgrade software. Apparently SS longer does upgrades via solarman dongles?

Sorry to hijack another thread, but what's the difference between solarman and the wifi dongle? (is solarman also wifi)?

(asking so I know what to ask for with my upcoming install)

Prior to about March this year both Sunsynk and Deye inverters came with the solarman dongle (wifi) that connects to the Solarman environment

Post then Sunsynk developed their own wifi dongle that connects to the Sunsynk environment / portal. Both allow you to view your inverter details remotely and change them (with the relevant access rights). They both connect to the RS232 port on the inverter. Deye still uses the solarman dongle - sunsynk now uses the sunsynk one

Solar assist > Solarman > Sunsynk dongle

I moved to solar assist a few weeks ago but still have the Solarman dongle connected as it has my historical data from when the system was commissioned in 2020.

I haven't looked into moving the historical data to solar assist or if its possible.

You can change settings on solar assist without needing to be granted access rights.

I would not do upgrades unless it's critical. Sunsynk has a habit of not doing release notes on what exactly was changed in any of the software upgrades and every week there are request to roll back software updates as the new release is not stable or not working as expected. Often people request specific software versions that has worked for them before the upgrades.

They sell them.

They sell them.
This is for the installer's account and he would prefer a physical /over the counter transaction.

Ok since there is a thread already, I will post here.

I recently noticed that my wifi dongle was not syncing to the app and website.

I managed to find the solution to the issue today on the PowerForum Store;

My variation of the solution of various attempts:

1. Unplug/switch off your wifi router
2. Disconnect the dongle, use a phillips screwdriver.
3. Wait 30 seconds or more and reconnect the dongle
4. Connect the phone to the dongle wifi use password 12345678.
4. Go to 10.10.10.1 on your browser (mine is 10.10.10.2)
5. Uncheck the tickmark for "use the following static IP address and click save
6. You might get error message could not save, try again.
7. If you done everything correct the dongle will display both red and green lights.

Now the crap part. Dongle and App does not give access to the information stored in the inverter for the days dongle was offline:

Hello.
Please explain with baby steps how to use the solarman app, whether smart or business, to get access rights to change settings on the sunsynk inverter remotely.
