Hi, just had the same issue. Are you running a single or 3 phase inverter? What was the turnaround time for the repair?
Single phase 8kw Sunsynk
Took about a month since I booked it in till collection.

What problem are you experiencing?

Have a 3ph 12kw, installed it end last year. Was receiving alot of errors which was sorted out with an update. Thought I would get another update this week, can only make things better?! After the update the interface looked like that of a single phase system and inverter stopped working with many incorrect values. Was told the board is damaged, and had to courier inverter to sunsynk (we live in a small town in the Free State). Probably the worst time to be without our inverter.

Lesson I learnt is that if its working don't do any software updates.

A software update resulted in my solar generation being limited and after a few requests I managed to get it rolled back to the previous version.

Unless there are serious issues, do not request a firmware upgrade, ever.

Sorry to hear. I am also cured of firmware updates on my inverter. I drove 300km there and back to take mine in and to collect. Didn't use courier.

Good luck.

Thanks all for info. I suspect my update days are also over. Will post feedback once I get inverter back.

I was told upon collection by one of the Sunsynk techs that there should be no load present when a firmware update is to be done. HTF should one do that? Because the update gets requested online and is done at random times after they processed your request. It's impossible to know when the update is gonna take place.

If they called and said sir we are gonna do the update at x time then sure thing. I will make sure the loads are gone at x time. Anyway not gonna bother with an update anytime soon.

Has that issue been sorted yet?

Update: From when I couriered my inverter off to Sunsynk and couriered it back, it took 7 days (Thursday to Thursday). Inverter working 100%. Unless there are any major fault codes or problems, no more updates.

Fsck me that's quick. Mine must have gotten lost in their shop, as my turnaround time was a month. Glad you are sorted.
