As the title reads, is there anything for Windows 10 that works the same way as Super Duper works for Mac?

I have a laptop that I need to clone the drive from an old SSD (upgrade storage space) to a new SSD and hoping I don't have to reload windows etc.

Has anyone tried CloneZilla? Or can anyone recommend a programme? The SSD will replace the current one in the same laptop so all drivers etc would be identical.

Please let me know.

Since you bought SanDisk drives why not install the SanDisk SSD Dashboard which will have everything you need, you can install Acronis True Image through the dashboard software and do the cloning.

It will also allow you to check the performance and update the firmware to be sure everything is running the way it should.

So I installed Macrium Reflect. Once programme was installed, I connected the new SSD via external USB and then clicked "Clone this Disk" option in macrium. Selected all the partitions of the current SSD and let the software do it's thing.

This morning I woke up and saw it was complete (no errors etc) so then proceeded to replace the old SSD with the new one. When I turn the laptop on again, it doesn't see any windows installed disk and ask me to choose where to boot from. When I select the SSD the screen will just reaper asking to select.

I must have done something wrong but not sure tho.

Should I rather choose to image the disk?

Also, the old SSD is 128GB and the new SSD is 240GB - when the clone was complete I saw the new SSD only showed as 128GB and then rest was still "un-allocated" is that correct?

Any tips?

Why not use the build in software? Go to Settings (UWP app) > Backup > Go to Backup and restore (Windows 7) then create a system image...

Will that then allow me to insert the new SSD into the laptop without installing anything again? Trying not to reinstall windows or software as there are quite a few on the current SDD.

This machine is running Windows 10.

See highlighted. Some USB bridge chips reserve some spare sectors to store internal data on the hard drive. It means that when using USB interface, reported maximum LBA to your PC is smaller than when using native SATA controller. More important, partition mapping might be incompatible with the altered maximum LBA settings.

I don't know how Macrium Reflect works, it could attempt to adjust partition table to match USB interface mapping. Then when you put such new SSD to the laptop, you need original partition mapping, but it had been already altered. Result is as you described.

The best is to clone drives on the same interface. Take it to PC and connect both drives to the SATA controller. If you have to use external USB bridge for cloning, make sure that cloning software use a raw copy (or sector by sector) and any partition adjustment options are disabled. Try DMDE: http://dmde.com/download.html

Re: 128GB result is fine. It is partition size, there is another half of empty (unallocated) space. When you get correct cloning and Windows is booting, you can resize partition in Windows. Some cloning software offer to resize partition during cloning, I don't advise to use this feature when copying to USB interface.
