Who said anything about custom firmware? You are looking for 21 updates. We have most of them on DVD and you use pc procy software to install them. No downloads and guaranteed install. You might have to download the last 3 or so.

Yes, but up to 2.06 I think. I will have to check. The important think is that they all work. There are about 3 or 4 of those updates thatt strugle to dl properly.
Well ive been struggling with Cameronkk for about 7 hours to get this to work though that proxy tool.
PS3 and pc proxy is setup correctly but i the file still wants to download from the net, could you please help me please?

Ive got some info that The platinum version of GT5 (BCES00569/P) has Version 2.00 or Spec 2.0 included, and im thinking of buying it and updating it from there, and i was just wondering will my save games and purchased DLC work with the platinum copy?

Sorry, i'm way too lazy to read through this entire thread. But, i had the same problem and it was definitely ISP related. Sadly, at the time, all i had was my mweb account but thankfully, someone uploaded the update file that i needed to rapidshare and, after downloading it, i simply used a proxy to get it onto the ps3.
Have you tried a different isp? If you don't have another isp account, why not just go onto axxess's website and get one of those free 3gb trials. You get the login details instantly.
PS i'm not advertising axxess at all! Im on openweb now but i've tried the axxess trial and it literally took 2 minutes to get an account. Maybe its the same with other isps too...

I sent you a PM with some details.
I think your saved games will work, but not 100% sure.
The Platinum do have some of the DLC, but I'm sure you will be able to install the other DLC packs as well by just revisiting your history in the Playstation store and just download the files (100kB) again.
This option will save you some time.

Thanks to StoneCold, I got myself a 5GB Plugg account and it downloaded flawlessly update after update.
Im confuesd why it failed on the same spot with mweb...very strange.

Thx Rickster. Glad you got sorted. There is a school of thought thst reckons that some of the files on the ISP servers might be corrupted and everytime you download you get the same corrupted file and if you change ISP you get another link.

I would suggest downloading ps3proxy. I got it exactly for this reason with GT5, where you can save the patches to your pc. When you need to update the proxy will download the file from the PC and it goes much faster.
