Super Rugby 2017

So who's reffing next week's game? Will have to wait and see before making my pick then. F@k.

Likely to be Angus Gardner, as he is at top-level and neutral. Linesman is okay to be home-associated as they make supportive decisions, but the TMO also needs to be neutral.

Coles is in good spirit, true sportsman and sincere in the Lions victory. No excuses, but only respect.

I have always thought to myself how and why SARU have not argued or faught harder for the two SA teams that are being dropped from next years super rugby comp, but now it all makes sense, a "deal" has obviously been agreed too.

I thought you were going to ask how SARU have not fought and argued harder to retain the most successful modern day coach in SA rugby history. Still can't believe Ackermann is going overseas at the end of this season. Absolutely tragic for SA rugby!!

Lions were fcking BRILLIANT, period. To turn a 22-3 deficit into a 29-44 victory against a top NZ franchise is nothing short of miraculous!!! BRAVO!!!!

He's trying to say the lions get given the tournament in exchange for us dropping 2 teams.

I don't think the tournament will be given to the Lions, next weeks final will be a fair contest and a fair ref, however the final will be played here, and a super rugby final with bums in seats at Emirates park goes a long way for SA rugby financially.

Another side of this is how BS the conferences are set up. The Lions didn't play one NZ team in the regular games, meaning they had by far the easiest run to the top of the log.

Compare their schedule to multiple NZ derbies for example.

Yet last year they played 6 NZ teams on the way to the final!! And as The Stormers showed last year, not playing against the top NZ franchises actually means you're not 'match fit' when playing a NZ team in a knockout stage (60-21 loss at home to Chiefs).

Lions deserve to be in the final. They've done everything asked of them, finished top of the log and knocked over the Hurricanes.

Having said that, we can all agree that the conference format is at best, laughable and nonsensical.

Some really bad calls by Peyper, tbh.

How there can be an SA ref, assistant ref and TMO in a semi final with an SA team is beyond me.

This...... happy for the Lions. But Peyphol ruined the Hurricanes momentum.

There questionable 50/50 calls in just about every game these days. That's the nature of rugby unfortunately. Specific rules and regulations but practical interpretation is ambiguous and subjective.
