Noguchi is the first Japanese player from university to play professional rugby in the Top League. He joins the Sunwolves in April after graduating from university. Jamie Joseph believes him to be a rugby prodigy.

Since the Sunwolves didn’t have any warmup games they attended military camp over the weekend alongside the Japanese self-defence force. I guess it is more a team building exercise than anything else.

Waikato Chiefs too strong for Brumbies in Super Rugby trial on Sunshine Coast

If you watched the first half, Australian Super Rugby teams may never beat their New Zealand counterparts again. But if you watched the second, maybe there's a glimmer of hope.

On the balance of the game, there's still a way to go before the trans-Tasman drought might end, after the Waikato Chiefs beat the ACT Brumbies 38-26 in a trial on the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday night.

Australian Super Rugby teams lost all 26 games to Kiwi opponents last year, and the Chiefs were swarming all over the Brumbies in the first half with ball control proving a real problem for the "home" side.

Even the Brumbies' website couldn't cope with the Kiwi onslaught, crashing in the first half.

The Chiefs' only real concern was an injury to winger Tim Nanai-Williams (shoulder) that forced him off in the first half. Chiefs coach Colin Cooper said they would evaluate him during the week.

OT:

WPRU has reported, due to the drought, that all union club rugby is suspended. No activity may take place on any WP rugby pitch, other than the games approved by WPRU. There will be no club leagues played this year under WPRU.

My local club is already mad at this decision, and though I understand the circumstances in the province, players, coaches, etc. must be paid, sponsorships will withdraw. This is a complicated situation.
 
Excited about the shortened season, though I personally feel it should be even shorter, step in the right direction.
Very excited to see what my Bulls can do this year under Mitchell, I believe he can get the Bulls back on the path to the team we knew in the former glory days, though it will take more than a single season.

I think they'll surprise a lot of people. Most have written them off but I think they will run a lot of teams close. As long as their key players stay fit
