I reckon it should be a take the offender off, replace with someone else and deduct 1 point for each yellow from the end result. So if they win but with 3 yellows, bye bye 3 points and if they lose, same, it just comes off their next win. I dunno.
 
I'm glad the Lions put the Bulls back in their place. Changing a coach does not maketh a good team over night. The Bulls are definitely on the right track, but it took the Lions a long time to become the team they are today.

I still hope the Bulls get back to their glory days, but only as long as my Lions can still give them a klap like yesterday... on Loftus.

Those two lock forwards (who was talked up after last week) was nowhere yesterday, and really so was our Diyantyi (actually the backline as a whole was a little lackluster until the game opened up later). I think the forwards let the Bulls down at the start and that just put the whole team under pressure.

Fully agreed, everyone OK most people was saying how the Bulls are a changed team, after only seeing them win one game.
Surely they have to play good rugby and be consistent for at least a few games before you start making them and there coach the new hero's of SA Rugby.
 
I believe the Lions played better than the Bulls, the scoreboard reflected that, BUT it also lied. The officiating was favouring the Lions under the same circumstances it punished the Bulls. I most definitely don't support the Bulls and I easily picked that up. Nonetheless, the Lions won, but the score should have been much closer.

Really? Favouring Lions? Officiating was average at best. We can provide numerous examples to proof our point.
The scoreline also flatters to deceive. Two tries in last 5 or so minutes by Bulls also is not a true reflection of the outcome.

I am complaining about the inconsistencies come team warnings. It is okay, to say, the Bulls ill-discipline and poor tackling cost them the game, but the Lions themselves on their own 5 metre lacked discipline, repeatedly, where no team warning was issued. Teams change when the momentum is swung to one side, mentally this instils indecisiveness.

The same laws (and policies) apply to both sides.

I think this all is due to pressure as an example.

If you are constantly in the opponent's red zone it's more likely for the Ref to penalize the opposition due to the perception of it being continuous for prolonged periods of time.

If that makes sense.
 
The Sunwolves has sent 26-men to SA.

I see Kotaro Matsushima is back in the squad, also Hosea Saumaki and Lomano Lemeki. These 3 backline players should still be recovering, did Jamie Joseph push them back into the squad? Fumiaki Tanaka is replaced by Keisuke Uchida, more speed less technicality on scrummie. Michael Little to make a Super Rugby debut.

Grant Hattingh is also back in the squad. I guess he is also pushed back in since they have lost Sam Wykes. Wimpie van der Walt also brought back early. A bit low on hookers but stocked on the loose.

This is a depleted squad, some men here shouldn’t even be travelling. They already brought Michael Leitch back too early last week…

The Stormers does not look bad, last week the first 20 minutes cost them the game. Hopefully their defense is better this week.

INJURY UPDATE: THE LIONS' SPRINGBOK FLANK JACO KRIEL FACES AN EXTENDED STAY ON THE SIDELINES.

The Lions revealed that 'due to unforeseen circumstances' the shoulder surgery the star loose forward underwent was 'unsuccessful'.

He is set for another round of surgery.

There is currently no timeline for a possible return to the game.

The 28-year-old, capped 11 times for South Africa, suffered the injury in the Rugby Championship Test against Australia in Perth on September 9 last year.

He underwent surgery almost immediately and was expected to miss only a few rounds of Super Rugby./

"Jaco should return by the end of February," Lions coach Swys de Bruin told rugby365 in an interview earlier this year.

However, he now requires a second round of surgery and could be sidelined for the rest of the season - which means he will also miss the England Test series.

It is a massive blow to the Lions, who have are currently at the top of the Super Rugby standings - after three comfortable wins against the Sharks (26-19), Jaguares (47-27) and Bulls (49-35).

However, the team does have enough depth to cope with the setback.

The preferred loose trio in the opening rounds was Albertus Smith, Cyle Brink and captain Warren Whiteley.

Franco Mostert show against the Bulls this past weekend he can do a fine job at blindside flank, while the Lions also have adequate cover in Marnus Schoeman and Hacjivah Dayimani.
