Super Slow speeds in Eldoraigne

I'm really not sure what's causing this. My ping to the exchange is fine. SNR and ATT is fine. I try both Afrihost and FNB accounts and I get 40kb/s on a 4MB line.

Other times it works and I get 400kb/s. But I can't see why. Capped, uncapped accounts all perform the same. What on earth could be causing this? 12:30 at night now, and got 40kb/s on speedtest - can't get it faster no matter what I do. Ealier around 17:00 I got 200kb/s.

No other machines on the network. Can the exchange "throttle" you?

What's your area number? Mine is 012 658 and I'm having the same issue.

No idea then. I've noticed Telkom people all over my area past few weeks. Something probably broke after the rain and AFAIK the exchange can't "throttle" you but it's probably congested. Post some trace routes and your modem connection stats

Think I might be onto something. I just did a line test and while it says my line is connected and support 4mb, below that it says:

Edit: nevermind realized that's the uploading speed. Still clueless. Recreated the port. No difference.

It only allows you to access Telkom sites like saix.net

Do a Speedtest there and post results here.

Just did the ookla speedtest on saix.net with those logins. Slightly better, but still sub 1mb/s speeds.
Edit: ping was 86ms. I think that's alright. I've seen congestion before and then my ping hit more than 500ms.

I'm back up to around 200kb/s. Slowly climbed as I assume more people went to sleep. Has to be a exchange/capacity issue, surely?

Have you tried harassing the techs with faults?

I've recreated my port which does nada. Opened up a ticket to have the line looked at. Any other suggestions?
