But I wonder: when will we have that kind of service in America, and what would be the cost for such service??

I've seen T1 services at USD$300.00 monthly. I can't imagine the cost of that new service.
 
Its probably going to be used in universities, and large offices more than in your average home. :)

The introduction paragraph seems to mention both business and homes :(

Well, you can get a fibre from your Dish to your PC. Wouldn't cost that much. I mean for what you are actually getting. :rolleyes:

We are installing alot of dishes for bigger guys(IS,Vodacom,Telkom) around the country, and the max i have seen so far is 144MBps..... but that was on a 13meter antenna for internet solutions. Good luck in having that installed in ur back yard. :P

AFAIK 144MBps is also the max transfer rate ( frequency wise) that you can have to a satellite per link.


So this means the chinese okes have somehow managed to increase the limits by up to ten fold...
 
It's probably all gonna be mostly 2ch and winny traffic :), with mostly
girlfriendless otakus posting and downloading h-porn.
