Supermoon and lunar eclipse - 28 September 2015

Took a couple of photos too, this is not what I'm seeing with the naked eye though.

I took a few photos at 5.00am... sadly my viewfinder gave me the finger (it's happy with an evening moonshot or a daylight shot, but a 5am shot obviously not), so I had to guess when it was perfectly in focus.

It came out acceptable, but nowhere near a supermoon shot for me. Will try upload my photos tonight.

I actually forgot that the moon sits on the opposite side in the mornings... I had like this little v-slot between my neighbour's roof and a tree to peek at it.

Saw a bit of it @ around 5 this morning.

Didn't look all that special - suspect I would be singing a different tune if I had watched the entire event. But my desire not to fall asleep at my desk today overtook my desire to watch the eclipse.

Took some pics through the telescope. Not the highest quality though unfortunately.

I tried with the phone again as well. I got pretty good (for a phone) pics with my Nokia last time but this new one wasn't all that great :(

Indeed, what camera did you guys use and at what time? @ Atomcrusher and Hamster.

I had to my piddly Sony Xperia Z2.

Looks awesome. Now, as expected, I read some crackpot on Facebook posted that this coincides with the feast of tabernacles (or some schit like that) and how wonderful is this and we can expect a lost of change. Like, it's not as if these feasts were not planned around certain occurrences, not the other way around

Anyway, I was asleep and forgot to wake up. Perhaps I was still drunk. :o
