I seem to be having an issues with Supersonic recently.

My latency for a few local IPs have shot up to around 180ms. I have tested from MTN mobile and the latency from there is as expected, around 20ms.
I have attached the traceroutes below... latency seems to be getting higher out of their network which make me seem its a peering issue...

Its causing issues with gaming on local servers, specifically CSGO, which was how I picked this issue up. Also have latency issues to the Property24 Website, not that it is gaming related, but shows that there is something going on.

I have contacted their support via Twitter and their WhatsApp support, seems they are now ignoring my messages, and previous responses always included "we are currently investigating"

Does anyone have an idea as to how i can escalate / expedite the issue getting fixed?

Chris

Hey Chris, i'm been having the same issue for the last week or so. I'm on Supersonic 20mb package. I used to get a 5ms ping to our local Battlefield servers in SA and now i'm getting 190ms.
If i connect to the european servers i'm still getting the same 170-180ms ping that i always used to get.
My connection to supersonic using their 'speed test' looks normal but if i try to ping/tracert various well know SA sites i get 180-190ms pings.

I've also been using the whatsapp contact number. I initially logged a call with them on Sunday and they palmed me off saying the speed test was within parameters. I've been constantly sending messages to them, most were ignored but today i got a message saying they are aware of an issue and their technicians are working on it.

Glad i came across your post, i've been googling the **** out of it for the last week or so thinking it was something wrong with my setup :)
You got any further news?

Regards
Mark

Howzit,

Nah no extra news from Supersonic. But I did get the exact same responses from them, saying an engineer is working on the issue, but nothing comes of it.
I managed to come up with a little work around. I have a VPS that is hosted in SA, decided to setup a VPN on it and full tunnel my machine to it. Got my latency back down to around 13ms and was able to play games again.

I have a friend also on MTN/Supersonic and they were having the exact same issues as well.

I some how doubt this is going to get fixed until WACS is sorted... i know they are not related to each other at all but it may give them a wake up and realize that there is actually an issue.
