Lets see now if I understand any of it.

Win7 media player should be able to stream the media, yea? That takes care of the DRM certificates. Not sure if it will be able to handle the flash aspect though, I need to try streaming some flash media.

Then, if this all works, and only then I can MAYBE convince win7 media player to stream the stream, via DLNA perhaps?

Hopefully an ipad app like VLC can be used to receive the stream on the iPad.

Waaaay too technical for me but I'm willing to give it a bash in the name of scientific discovery

Twonky has a DLNA browser to device streaming plugin but it's not 100%. I will let you know if I get it to work.

We tried a few more times and received varying quality - it seems to be dependant on the connection which it is not reliable for 'public' viewing (like having friends over) because you can never tell. But it's good enough for us at home when we want to watch the game.

Well I got splashtop which does the job a lot easier. It's also not 100%, but like you said, at least one can watch the game, from wherever you want.

Oooh, Twonky does not stream Flash videos. How annoying. I will try Splashtop.
