Unshaped data from Axxess @ R19/GB, so this might just be a viable option.
 
Anybody using this? Is the quality still dodgy?

It's crap.

Don't bother maximising the window on a 23" LCD, the quality is crap. (4mb uncapped).

The schedule is also bollocks, I wanted to watch the lions game two weeks ago, and instead they were streaming an IPL game.

Utter waste of time, unless you are in a complete bind, and can watch the whole game in front of your pc in windowed mode.
 
I personally don't have the money to afford premium sub dstv. The parents up north have DSTV, but also went to a cheaper package, but I think the smartcard# still work on the supersport website.

However I hated their player and the fact that you need to watch it on the website, so went through the hardwork of figuring out how to make it work in XBMC, which is all I use on my TV anyways. Now that I can stream it via XBMC it doesn't look so bad, XBMC is also far superior in that I can use 16:9 zoom, ie. small parts of the top/bottom is cut off, which really isn't needed and now the picture looks fine on my 40" TV. Sure the quality is not even that of normal SD TV, but its good enough to watch it, considering I don't pay for it.

How about those HD sport streams like Veetle. I wonder how it would look streaming through a TV(either a CRT, Plasma or LCD).

If I could get decent sport through the interwebs and SKY News which I've read is accessible free with a certain decoder then I'd dump DSTV tomorrow.

I have tried the streaming through Veetle on my PS3 (wireless, 42" LCD), it's also crap.

i have looked around, if you can FIND the stream in HD, it either stutters, or it really isnt HD, and shouldn't be viewed on a large screen.

For XBMC? You need to create 5 stream files with preset names in them and then open them 1 by 1 to see what is on them. You can send me a private message if you need to know the layout of these playlist files, but I am sure you can understand why I won't be posting them here.

Well, the Drifta's S1 & S2 is fine for me at R36 per month and no lag. I can do without the other channels as I've never watched any of them before.
 
Aaargh, im getting Invalid for my smart card, worked on the weekend but not now, come on supersport the game is about to start!!!

Same here, invalid smart card, it worked a week before. DSTV internet services are such a farce.

I was just told it's only Premium subs now, no more any package like it was up until last week ....... fsckem :mad:
