Hi,

yeasterday followe a thread discussing E220 support for USSD prepaid balance check service (*XXXX# - like commands).
Visited some web links provided, unfortunately web links are no more valid.

Could you refer me to Huawei's web site with upgraded firmware, dashboard application , I could install in E220 to have it to provide balance check usinf RSSD commands ?

Check in the MTN forum on one of the sticky's, think that is what you are looking for. Sorry, I would post a link but its a pain as I browse from my mobile.

I just need to know if E220 with upgraded dashboard and firmware can support RSSD command for prepaid account balance, as with my E160 and E169 I have no control over my balance and don't know what time to recharge my account in advance.
As I get my E160 connected to Linux machine I really need a way to control balance to keep intruders from eating-up my air-time .

ginggs was so nice to provide with details about his excellent MDMA application for Vista, testing my modem.
Unfortunately I can not send USSD commands for balance check.

My telecom operator keeps advising me to remove sim card from a modem,
insert it into 3G phone, check for balance sending *XXXX# like command

As links provided for E220 firmware update are no more valid,
and MTN forum is not accessible,
all I can do is to wish you
have a nice trip
