Hi All

Ginggs was kind enough to host this for us so thanks for that here is the VISTA update document done by yours truly - Me

Please see below Ginngs posted the actual links

I have to leave the office now (and do some actual work ), so I'll leave it up to you guys to do the rest

Download all three zips and unzip into the same directory, then double-click on the word doc.

It's probably worth mentioning that everything still works in XP (you don't need Vista in order to use this), and that USSD commands now work after the firmware upgrade.

"The requested document was not found on this server."

The "..." are really in those urls. Any chance of posting the full ones?

Just want to dubble check, I'm getting my E220 next week. Would I still need to do the firmware update on the unit?

More than likely yes, but it's easy to determine if you need it or not. If you are using Windows Vista and you receive the message "The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable." when trying to install the software, you definitely need the firmware update.

Hi everybody

I have a little problem,

I installed complete upgrade of huawei e220 for windows vista, everything was running until the one last step - the connection to internet failed, so I checked the connection settings in vista and used a tipp for dialing *99# and writing down the MTN [email protected] the result was the connection finally, but, the prize for it is too high - I cannot reach 3G connection speeds at all, so what's the problem. In other words, I am only at GPRS speed, which is, as u can imagine, not very useful by downloading bigger files etc.
HOW DO I REACH THE 3G SPEED? I still see just the green light on my modem, i would like to have it BLUE. I am getting really desperate.
By the way, I am using Vodafone huawei e220 in Ireland...
Should I wait for official upgrade of huawei e220 for Vista from Vodafone IE operator, or is there any solution left?
please HELP
thanks

Check that you have 3G coverage and that your connection type is '3G Preferred', if you receive a weak signa you can try setting is to '3G Only', but from all accounts it's better to have a strong EDGE signal than a weak 3G sginal.

Happy St Patrick's Day! :D

64 bit VISTA drivers?

Any idea when the 64 bit drivers will be available. All my devices and peripherals are 64 bit VISTA compatible, except the E220 USB modem. It's a real pain having to keep dual boot capability just for a modem.

I have updated the firmware and the Software on an XP machine but my the software says that the data card is invalid.

The emulated CD-Rom drive is seen and I can browse it in Vista, but as soon as the dashboard is loaded I get the above mentioned error...

Everyone said that they loaded the software and everything worked fine except for mine! Can anyone maybe try and help in some way?

I did update the firmware before the software...

Did you point the Driver in device manager to system 32?

I did but after much hassle last night I managed to fix the problem. It never installed the modem and that is where the problem came about.

I don't know how I fixed it but at some stage I did something and then the modem installed and everything worked hunky dory...

Hi all, not my usual posting area so ill be a guest for a few minutes.

Had hell installing the E220, managed fine after firmware update and dashboard update. Now all connects fine and im able to send sms from the client app. and the 3g signal is visible. The built in "connect" option for the internet does not want to work so created a windows dial up connection but keep getting to "registering your computer on the network" and then error 619. Any1 know what could be the cause? I did try follow the instruction for Vista install but couldnt replicate the result so did it my own way.

Determined that error 619 means the port is disconnected. But why?
