Supreme Commander

The moment you have one of the experimental weapons it is tickets. Like the big Bertha gun. 5 min and the other guy is gone and there is nothing he can do. And the game take forever to get so somewhere. C&C is gonna rule !

I must say I'm disappointed with this game. I started playing on Friday evening. When the game started the graphics blew me away (very nice) but when I started playing I became irritated with a number of things. The units are all the same colour (pale blue for my current faction) and very small (hard to id). It's not like C&C and especially Act of War where one can get close to the action and units in execution of actions. I do understand it is because of the scale of SupCom - but one ends up playing with groups of blue/red/green squares on the screen - and I don't like it one bit. An Air Traffic Controller used to icons moving around may like this game more than I do. I feel removed from the action with this game - it doesn't pull me in.

And because of the scale things take forever. I'm not into forever when I'm gaming. I like things to move when I tell it to and to do it fast. In this game I wait too much.

The comand and control inteface is very effective and its graphics very good - but too big - leaving me with too little map space for my likeing.

But I would like to hear others' comments ...

you can always get a 2nd PC screen to span the game on two LCDs. ;)
 
Yeah, I guess two screens will work much better. My card can do it, but buying a second LCD for one game will send shockwaves through my household - and budget :)
 
no no... he be a GAMING fanboy hehehe... platform is of lesser importance/impotence than the games themselves... he used to be a pc fanboy i think, cause he still owned my rear in BF2... he be gooooood

supreme rocks! but chugs on my system on the big (41km/81km) maps. ouch

Completed the UEF and Cybran campaigns ... and I must admit that this is a brilliant game. The more one gets into this game the better it becomes. It is awesome gaming value ... it takes very long to complete campaigns providing many many hours of challanging fun. Never has a game turned my opinion from negative to possitive like this. What also impressed me so far is how well this game behaves ... it is rock solid and very slick.
