Does anybody know of someone that can solder on a surface mount plug for me? I have already ordered the broken part[zif-type plug] but I don't have the right tools nor steady hand to attempt it myself. Normally I would attempt it myself anyway using the wrong tools, but in this case I would _really_ like my phone to still work after it's soldered. 6 tiny little pins on the plug no 3 that connects the speaker above the screen and proximity sensor to the mainboard.

Basically I did exactly what all these dumbasses here did:

Background:
After some very good use of my iPhone I got a cat hair (really) in my screen between the glass and screen. Besides this it also had loads of dust there so I decided to open the phone as I always have to open everything up to satisfy my curiosity. Everything went well, I got the hair out, dusted it a bit and while reassembling it I broke said connector. In retrospect it is clear that I should never even have opened it - if it ain't broke, blah.

It helps to know your location?

Possibly best to locate a good electronics repair dude/facility close to you, as one can do more damage that good if you don't know what you are doing here. But then you learnt that part ;)

It's not too difficult, really. Good luck.

Good point. I'm in Pretoria at the moment. Seeing as the spare is coming from the US maybe I'll have moved by the time it arrives ;)

You can also try the local cellphone repair places, they are normally can handle this. But make sure they quote you up front.
