So WHEN was this article written then? Sorry, but you can't get 8:1 for the dollar unless you're going back to some time last year and even then it was for a short period. Heck, you can't even ROUND UP to 8 with the figures going back to August last year!

If you calculate the actual exchange rate used in each sell (e.g. R293 / $39 = R7.512820... per USD) you'll see that I didn't actually use R8:$1.
It was a rounding error introduced when I converted all my cells to currency without decimal places. My bad. Next time I'll make sure the "exchange rate used" cell has at least 2 decimals.
The actual rate used (before rounding) was R7.50 per USD (which is close to what ABSA was selling the currency for back then). The other exchange rates weren't affected by rounding.
