Surprising turn in Cell C user migration decision

Cell C recently announced that it has started to migrate its contract and broadband customers off its network in a process which is expected to be completed in the next two months.

This, the mobile operator said, forms part of its network strategy where it will switch off its own radio network and partner with the “best-of-breed on both infrastructure and services”.

ooof, Vodacom customers gonna have an even worse time now. The network has been rubbish since 2019 and coincidently that's when Telkom started roaming on them.

I do have issues with VC voice (and data) calls a lot of times.

A hunch: Cell C are so in debt with MTN that the yellow network refused to take on more until the debt is cleared, so Cell C are bouncing these lines to Vodacom....

Smells like a debt spiral to me.

It may be that Cell C is behind on its bills to MTN and MTN just said stuff it, its not worth the bother anymore

The network became so unbearable especially in the Pretoria area that I just ported to MTN. Was a night and day difference. Have solid LTE all over now.

Yea... my contract is still a year to go. But VC network sucks these days.

I tried to connect to Voda 4G and it crashes my modem. Could always only connect to 3G which is unusable during the day. This is going to be a stuffup.
