Surround Sound System

I don't know that model Samsung myself, but one thing I would point out is that the Sony system at the same price point has a smart Blu-ray player rather than a dvd player. Good sound for the price I think.

Don't know about Pietermaritzburg, but I got mine at the sound shop in menlyn mall. Can't remember the exact name of the shop though.

The system is the model BDV-E2100. If you can find the E3100 go for that one rather though. Largest difference in my mind is the material covering the speakers, the 2100 has cloth while the 3100 has metal. Honestly just easier to clean dust off of metal, and it looks nicer obviously.
 
That one seems good. Honestly can't comment though as I have not heard it myself.

And yeah, it is a bit tough to actually find the lower end Sony systems sadly.
 
It does not say much about the ports that it has.
Too lazy to google now but that is something that you need to look at first before you buy a surround sound system.

Has HDMI out, LAN and USB
Optical In
Input AUX L/R
FM Antenna

Seems to be all that I see
 
i noticed not alot have stock of blu ray systems as well ...not a good sign

i picked up a demo for around R2200 ..was R5k

so if you do get a demo as well go for it
