It's just a scam. Never heard of them before supposedly from Lesotho. And yeah I have a lot of contacts in Maseru and they have never heard of the Surties.

I could be wrong, but I believe the Surtie family are real, and there was some truth behind the backstory of this scam, which is what made it so successful in getting people to part with their money.

It's the premise that they are in any way entitled to a portion of the proceeds that is misguided.
