Surtie Inheritance Scam

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on that.

I started listing the reasons why this 'process' (for lack of a better word) is differentiated from an actual investment, but realised that there's not much point to it.

If any of the people who contributed ever get any money in return for what they donated (since this is what was collected - donations as part of a crowdfunding initiative), then this money would technically not be a 'return on their investment', but it would instead take the form of a 'gift payment' that they'll receive from a registered NPO. Yes - I've checked. A Section 21 company was actually registered. And the names of the people listed as directors of this company are very closely associated with the initial crowdfunding initiative.

So...if I were to run a scam of this nature (and hope to get away with it), I would never agree to, or offer to have my name linked to any company registration documents.

In my opinion (just that - an opinion), these guys would not have gone to the effort of registering this company, preparing websites, interviewing financial experts, and generally spending money on a host of other things if they didn't expect to have a reasonable prospect of receiving funds that would need to be disbursed. I'm not saying that I think they have a good chance of receiving money. That said, I don't have access to much of the information that they have at their disposal. And I'm relatively certain that regular contributors to this thread don't have that information either. Whether it's conmen like SurtieMillioNIL, or others who only come on here to shoot down the plausibility of not only payouts to 'beneficiaries', but also the validity of the entire legal matter.

So if these guys are preparing all these things in the background, then who knows? Maybe the people on this thread that have subjected themselves to ridicule on countless occasions might actually end up being the recipients of these 'gift payments' after all.

Unless of course they've been conned by SurtieMillioNIL...
Please do give the registered NPOs name please?

I do think (certainly opinion, because facts have been so fogged by the scam) that there is a legitimate issue with the estate of the original Art Surtie
Let me clear this up. The court case currently pending in the North Gauteng High Court should attest to the legitimacy of the estate’s claim. Which scam specifically you’re referring to, I’m not sure. But as far as opportunistic scammers go, some of them latching on to this thing was inevitable

Seizing those two ABSA accounts was related to this part of the narrative being followed on this thread.
You’ve touched on this before. And I thought my previous response would have been sufficient. Reading the details of the interim order from the Bellville Magistrate’s Court that I posted on the previous occasion should provide clarity, or at the very least strongly suggest how the two issues are related

Until a settlement on this is reached (BORING!) or better, a juicy court case to follow, I don't have anything but a strong opinion that this is the cource and substance of numerous scams and false promises of returns to donors/investor/desperate, financially challenged
The total sum of what I’ve had access to indicates that a settlement has been/will be reached. I’m of the opinion that this thing won’t go to trial

As mentioned previously, scammers and scams were inevitable. There’s no way that this could have been avoided. It is quite unfortunate that so many miseducated people have been duped by these scammers. I really do commiserate

IF there is a payout from PIC then I will have to admit that I have been wrong about the scam and perhaps should have invested/donated. I have no regrets whatsoever about having considered this something that should be criticised whenever possible, because to me it IS a scam with no hope of payouts. It looks like a duck, it walks like a duck and it certainly sounds like a duck to me.
Well, this is what I was trying to say in my earlier post. When I was first told about this, I blew it off as BS. But because I actually looked into it and sifted out all the noise that was thrown into the mix by people who listened to/are still listening to the scammers, my perspective changed. I’m still not convinced that people will get the tens of millions that they’re expecting, but with all the work that these guys have put into preparing to pay people, I no longer consider it prudent to just brush aside the idea that every individual involved in this is only involved because they’re out to scam as many people as possible. There is actually some serious effort and planning that went into getting to the point that whatever is happening behind the scenes has progressed. I simply cannot fathom why the gentlemen involved would have put in all that effort just for the hell of it.

If they were simply scamming people, then this would have been the perfect opportunity to execute an exit strategy. Instead, they’ve gone in a completely different direction. This in itself is an indication that it’s more than just the scam that it appears to be on the surface.

Again, I’m not advocating either side, but my logic suggests that there are people who will get paid

Please do give the registered NPOs name please?
I can’t do that unfortunately. It’s not my information to share on a public forum. I can assure you however, that the information is freely available to anybody and everybody. I simply dug deep enough to satisfy my curiosity. Admittedly, I called in some favours from friends/associates in various fields who have subscriptions to online databases I needed access to. But that was purely because I’m too cheap to pay for the information myself…

Lolol, after all this time of being fed BS, are you still clinging onto the hope of being paid. That's some real dedication

Yes. Thabo Bester really did the Speedtest with the software kitted to a Polestar. And then Ted Lasso’s BRICS comment exposed The Mandalorian as a noob :sneaky:

And which "online databases" did you need access to?

You can't do that because you are lying. Are you not ashamed of yourself?
