- Topless and with a gash to his head, the suspected kidnapper and rapist lay dead at the business premises of his victim's son.

He had been brutally assaulted by a mob in Soshanguve, six days after he allegedly kidnapped a 47-year-old woman in Hammanskraal and raped her before demanding money for her release.

The man allegedly kidnapped the woman, who cannot be named due to the nature of the crime, last Wednesday. Later that same day, he accepted a ransom of R4 000 from the woman’s son and then freed her.

Her son told the Pretoria News they had been in contact with the man via cellphone while negotiating the release of his mother. This made it easier to track down the suspect .

Together with family members, they trapped the man by phoning him and promising him a job. He agreed to meet them near the Father Smangaliso Mkhatshwa Centre, commonly known as Stout school, in Soshanguve.

“We already had his cellphone number; we were calling him from a different number to the one we used last week. We found that the number we called belonged to his partner, who relayed the message to him.”

Took him to business premises for police to arrive. I would think its normal to take him to the police station.
Kidnapping and ransom bit too much like the movies. In CT guy complained at a business about parts they sold to him. Never seen again alive. Well known case because his grave found due to mother's visions of his grave.

I remember this case. I think the investigating officers were Dineo Scully and Fuchs Mulder.
 
Something must be wrong because I can't register a shred of caring for what happened to this psychopath.
 
4 held over death of suspected kidnapper, rapist

Pretoria - Four suspects are expected to appear in the Moretele Magistrate’s Court following the murder of a man accused of raping a 47-year-old woman in Hammanskraal.

The man was brutally assaulted by a mob in Soshanguve on Tuesday, six days after he allegedly kidnapped the woman and raped her before demanding money for her release.

Later on the same day, he accepted a ransom of R4 000 from the woman’s son and then freed the woman.

Her son said they had been in contact with the man on cellphone while negotiating the release of his mother.

This made the task of tracking the suspect down afterwards easier.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Kweza said the four men aged 30, 32, 34 and 41, were arrested following the death of the suspect.

“We have instituted an investigation following claims that the family did not receive help from police when they went to the police to report a case of kidnapping.”
