Suzuki Vitara (Fourth Generation)

RoadTrip: The good life and the land of the long white cloud in a Suzuki Vitara Turbo

Lessons learnt

What did we learn during our five-day drive on the South Island? Well, firstly, we can see why many Saffas want to move to New Zealand – the bits we saw were truly astounding. Christchurch is an exception, and if people tell you they are emigrating there, feel free to offer your condolences.

We also learned that New Zealand has no crime problem, it has plenty of sheep, and that it is worth a visit for sure. Most importantly we again realised the Vitara is an amazingly competent car, offering great levels of comfort and space, and an attractive price – under R400 000 for the flagship in South Africa.

Oh, and we also decided that our own country is more than pretty enough to enjoy one of the best products that Suzuki has in its line-up. So, no real need to visit the Land of the Long White Cloud. But if you do decide to go there, we guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Toyota to offer rebadged Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ertiga, says new report

Toyota is preparing to launch rebadged versions of Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza crossover and Ertiga MPV, according to a fresh report from India.

In 2018, the two Japanese firms announced broad plans for new “joint projects”. A year later, Toyota revealed the Glanza, which is effectively a rebadged Suzuki Baleno.

According to Indian daily newspaper, The Economic Times, Toyota will add a rebadged Vitara Brezza to its Indian range in the second half of 2020, with a version of the Ertiga seven-seater to follow early in 2021.

2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza BS6 Petrol Review | First Drive | Autocar India

The Vitara Brezza has been, for some time, the best-selling SUV in India, but now that BS6 is around the corner, Maruti has given it a facelift, and in the process, ditched its old diesel engine for a petrol engine.

What's new, and what's it like to drive now? Shapur Kotwal has the answers.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift Review - carandbike

We drove the car in the sunny locales of Goa and here’s our review of the updated Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift.

Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol 2020 Review | Get The Manual! | Zigwheels.com

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has finally received a facelift for 2020. Though we were expecting a new generation car by now, the Brezza gets some small but significant changes instead.

For 2020 the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will no longer be available with a diesel engine. Instead, it is now only available with 1.5 litre petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza now gets a mid-life facelift that gives the exterior and interior some mild updates. However, the major change is under the hood in the form of the 1.5-litre petrol engine which is offered with an AT or MT.

The K15 engine also gets SHVS tech in the automatic variant.

Just checking....but isn't the Vitara that we have in South Africa sourced from Hungary?

Attention:

I hereby withdraw all recommendations made in the past regarding Suzuki vehicles, as my Suzuki Ertiga is rusting all over (externally and internally), after only 2 years.

i had previously reported on this site that rust was noticed within the first few months, which the dealership had repaired, however, the repair did not last long. and, other parts of the vehicle started showing rust.

according to the dealer, Suzuki SA (warrantee division) doesn't want to have the vehicle repaired.

2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza Facelift 1.5L Petrol : Official Review - Team-BHP

The Maruti Vitara Brezza Facelift is on sale in India at a price of between Rs. 7.34 - 11.40 lakhs (ex-Delhi).

What you’ll like:

• A well-rounded Compact SUV with mature styling & mass-market appeal
• Competent 1.5L petrol offers excellent driveability & practicality
• Smooth torque-converter AT replaces the jerky old AMT. Gets SHVS tech
• Well-mannered suspension riding on big 215/60 R16 tyres. Good ground clearance as well
• Decent cabin space for a sub-4 meter car. Lots of storage & a powerful air-con too
• Features such as auto LED headlamps, auto wipers, cruise control, 7" touchscreen ICE etc.
• Dual airbags & ABS are standard. The pre-facelift version received a 4-star GNCAP safety rating
• Maruti’s excellent after-sales service, wide dealer network & fuss-free ownership experiences

What you won’t:

• No diesel option! Maruti’s BS6 1.5L diesel engine is still some time away
• This 1.5L petrol motor is uninvolving to drive. Enthusiasts, look elsewhere
• 4-speed Automatic gearbox feels old & outdated. No manual mode or paddle shifters either
• With the new 1.5L petrol, the car has lost its relative VFM positioning in the segment
• AT option commands a steep Rs. 1.4 lakh ex-showroom premium!
• Ordinary interior quality and design. The game has moved on with newer competitors
• Missing features by 2020 standards (6 airbags, sunroof, leather seats etc.)
• Boot has a practical layout, but is still the 2nd smallest in the segment @ 328 liters

The Suzuki Vitara that we now have in SA comes from Hungary.
The Suzuki Vitara Brezza hails from India.

This jobbie (Brezza) has the same 1.5 engine that powers the Ertiga.

Maybe that will soon be here?
