Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before ( Search didn't help! )

Is it possible to swap the data that I've got on my Afrihost SIM ( 10gb/mo @R297 ) to a new SIM card? I'm considering porting/signing up with MTN on a fresh contract, and this would be the deal maker for me.

Thanks!

Call Support and ask:
011 612 7200

You could also try pming Afriguy, Afriman or Afrigenie.

Hi :)

There isn't an automated way of doing this, but I'm sure I can have something arranged for you.
Drop me a PM once you've got your new SIM and I can make something happen :)

This is why I love you guys ;)

Think I can also re-use my old SIM for a smaller data bundle? :P

When I tried to do this, Afrihost support said it wasn't possible...

It depends on the setup, some changes are possible. I'll need to look at the context on why this wasn't possible.

OP, are you planning to use Afrihost data on an MTN account? I'd be wary of doing that if I were you - there were some issues with that setup in the past where people were billed both by MTN and Afrihost for the same data, who then pointed fingers at each other when it was queried. I don't recollect it ever being resolved.

The occurrences of these issues have been significantly reduced, if you are using our APN product on a MTN Contract sim card, and you disconnect for an extended period - usually about eight hours - our system will automatically notify you via SMS that you are not using the Afrihost APN at the moment.

Yeah, as I said, I'd be wary of that...

Speak to AH, but also make sure that MTN will provision the new sim to allow for that data...

As long as the sim card is linked to a MTN Contract, we can take care of everything for the client, you just need to sign-up through our website.
