Anyone using / trying Hyperswitch? One of the things I've had a harder time getting used to is being able to use Alt-Tab to switch, not only between apps, but between multiple windows of an app. e.g. I might have 3 Excel workbooks open but because, unlike my browser, Excel doesn't provide a visual cue of the other open files, I find it less intuitive to be able to find the window I'm needing. Pressing Command + ' allows me to switch between those windows - that's all good and well but I just don't find it as intuitive as the win task switcher.
I read about Hyperswitch and gave it a go - it's really good and does exactly what I want it to - it uses Option Tab to switch between apps and multiple windows of the same app which I find far more intuitive. e.g. I might be working between two of 4 open Excel workbooks and wanting to switch regularly between the two while comparing or updating stuff - Windows does this pretty well with alt-tab switching between the two most recent windows if you let go in between alt-tabs. Hyperswitch does a great job of the same thing. Mac's command + ' allows me to switch until I find the one I'm looking for, but it switches in the same order, so if I have 4 windows open and am in window 2, but want window 1, I have to press option + ' three times and make sure I'm paying attention when I do so I don't overshoot.
It's seems like a small deal but it affects my productivity pretty much.... all that said, I'm loathe to install ADDITIONAL background software for the sake of it and can't yet decide if I just need to get used to the default (always beneficial) or start using this new app. The app is also "in beta" and by default collects too much telemetry for my liking - and I have to allow it to capture the screen etc. which I'm not keen on. I see the dev is Germany based so less of a concern there, but still...
Anyone else use it?
