Swype on rooted phones

Thinking of getting my gio rooted, battery life is pretty pathetic right now, what I am worried about is swype will the new rom have it if not where and how do I her it.

Using Swype on my Cyanogenmod Android, works very well. Pity there's no Afrikaans dictionary.

I'm assuming that's a Samsung. The beta versions available to the general public are much improved, later versions of Swype. Basing this on the galaxy s version of Swype I've used.

Swype works just fine on rooted phones. The beta is great.

The only issue I've come across with it, is in firefox, it tends to put random spaces in words, which is very annoying.

At least Swype learns quick and easy I have had my phone for about 3 months now and it knows sooo many Afrikaans words so that I can long sentences without even needing to learn a new word to the phone... Yeah swype is the best thing since sliced bread....

I agree. Showed it to a friend and she couldn't believe how fast it is to use. Won't be looking at her Blackberry the same way again!

It would also work nice on a small screen, because a small screen would be hard allready typing with onscreen buttons, this would just make it beter.. I have the Galaxy Ace and it's got a semi decent size screen.. So I can't really say much about small screen size, but it works great on my phone.

And swype learns new words simply by typing it in the normal way and pressing space afterwards.. My phone has soooo many afrikaans words learned to be really accurate.. I have tried some other keyboard apps for android, but at the end of the day I think swype is the most useful and user friendly of them all...

It doesn't work as well on slower phones and smaller screens. But still a great keyboard choice.
