Symantec anti-virus update makes some PCs inoperable

Been making PC's inoperable since installation... :D Been using Avast for years now and never a single problem...

I also use Avast. It is free and works like a charm without slowing down your pc. Bloatware like Norton and Mcafee just don't cut it for me anymore.

If I'm going to install an AV it will be McAfee. Best anti-virus there is. It scans your every click. Nothing gets past it.

Nod32 and Avast, the rest can 'tsek.
Most proper antivirus solutions will have a business edition which allows for centralised updating and management.
Symantec isnt all bad though, their endpoint products are quite good.

I actually quite like Symantec End-Point Protection for a business solution. Its like a bouncer on your PC :P

MSE is best for home computers but I've seen a virus rip straight through it.

No AV can protect your PC against 100% of viruses out there, some are better than others at it though.

I haven't used any Symantec AV in recent years but I've read and heard that they've really upped their game the last couple of years when it comes to how resource intensive the AV is.

Symantec EndPoint has always been much, much better than their retail offerings from when I was working with it.
