Sympatico PPPOE issue

Hi, i just moved from Normal type ADSL broadband from my home in Newyork.
and now in Toronto (sympatico) uses routerPPPOE type broadband.

Ever since i wired up the connection 3 days ago Ive been having trouble with my connection randomly flashing about every .5-1hour. t

he whole Internet gateway connection would disappear from Network Connections and then my Ethernet adapter would display that my cable is unplugged, then it would give me 100mbLAN and flash back and forth multiple times.

shortly after the gateway would re-appear and everything would be fine again.

Sometimes the routers can be kind of sketchy. So I disabled my routersPPPOE autoconnect. and used the windows XP manual PPPOE connect, hoping it would solve my problems.

still nothing. if anyone with greater knowledge in the PPPOE area could help me, I'd really appreciate it. thx.
