It is a well known fact that sync operations directly with your PC via ActiveSync for Win XP and Windows Mobile Device Centre 6.1 for Vista & Win 7 was a piece of cake. Nolonger the case via the old method under the following scheme - OS Win 7 64bit with Office 2010 64bit. This is well documented on the net.

The tempory sollution is to use Windows Live via your Hotmail account or use "Ms MyPhone"(200MB Storage) to sync your contacts, calendar, text messages, pictures and documents if your are useing a WM 6.1 to 6.5 phone. Sorry if you are useing a WM7 phone you will have to wait until 6 October 2011 when the new "Window Live Skydrive"(25GB Storage) will accommodate all the WM 6.1 inclusive of WM7 devices. Present users of "Ms MyPhone" with all stored data will automatically be migrated to the new "Window Live Skydrive" with their Windows Live ID by Microsoft and be notified by Email.
Hope this helps with understanding of the problem and that are other solutions without going to use 3rd party apps. Unfortunately this forum does not permit me to place the full story in pdf format as attachment.

No, WM7 does not and will not exist.

Unfortunatly you are wrong see link http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1495570/windows-mobile-windows-phone
Lets agree to disagree on the WM/Windows Phone title and enjoy the usefull info regarding sync operations for Windows Mobile OS also known by another name Windows Phone.
Except that that article is from 2009 when Windows Mobile 7 was the planned new release. They then scrapped everything and restarted with Windows Phone.
I have an old Windows Mobile 6.5 device and I have a Windows Phone 7. In the Windows Mobile device it is referred to as Windows Mobile, not Phone.

This forum section was setup for the new Windows Phones.

Windows Mobile = Windows CE

There is a Windows 7 CE for use on PLC and light computing like the http://www.beckhoff.com/ systems and yes it is real. Windows Phone 7 use this Windows Mobile OS as its base with a .net based window manager.

Yes I know some people gets upset when you refer to Windows Phone as Windows Mobile as Windows Mobile 6 and 6.5 or shall we say the GUI they used where crap, but Windows mobile worked like a dream and is used in many systems from Netbook like footprints to controlling factories all over the world.

I have a very strong Feeling that Windows 8 for arm is going to be based on this exact same kernel. They might just slap on a version number on Windows CE 7 or maybe not as Windows 7 is still running same basic kernel as Vista ie: 6.1 and not 7.****
