Hey guys

I have been reading a bit about speed issues and one that I have noticed coming up quite a bit is the whole thing of router synching with the exchange.
How do I check to see if my router (Netgear DG834 v2) is synching correctly?

Cheers
Gareth

Check near the bottom:

Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 384 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 128 kbps

If you are connected you are synched at the speed mentioned by your router. You are obviously not getting the speed you expected according to what you are paying.

I had that issue, kept synching at 192 instead of 384 - turned out to be the alarm sitting on an unfiltered section of the line.

Ok

I see that I am connected at downstream 4096 and upstream 384.

I see that line attenuation is 15db down and 7 up. Is that acceptable?

I have also downloaded DAP and will see if that makes a difference.

Cheers
