Synchronised browsing

You can't beat opera for out of the box performance let's face it. Standard opera vs standard firefox it's a no contest really opera wins hands down.

Look. When you are going to state opinion, don't try to pass it of as fact unless you can provide empirical evidence. Your perceived speed of one browser over the other is neither here nor there.

Thus when firefox finally has opera's functionality with a lot of add-ons opera uses a lot less memory.

Besides Speed Dial what functionality does Opera have out of the box that FF doesn't? My browser use is fairly straightforward so it's quite possible I might miss things in this respect.

And sites not working in opera is really few and far between these days. And i'll gladly not visit a site if it doesn't load in my browser to promote web standards. It's the sites lost not mine. There will be many other sites with the data i'm looking for.

unfortunately the people who I need to pay via internet banking will not afford me the benefit of blaming Opera. And when it can make up for the great rate I get on my home bond I might consider using it for the purposes of promoting web stands - see fnb online banking.

Most of the opera haters never tried it. But on the other side the majority of opera users first tried firefox and switched. But in the end everybody has their own choice since if something is perfect everybody would have used it.

As I said I have used Opera extensively since 9.50 beta stage so I guess this has no relevance to me.

No need to take my whole post as a direct statement/threat to you. And to be honest i know more than a fair bit of browsers,
but let's just leave it at that.

Okay may have frased my first point wrongly. Let's just opera has better out of the box functionality. After first install opera provides torrent support, add blocking, bookmarks notes and rss syncrionisation, just as fast as firefox, built in email client, user agent switching and better caching and thus load regular used sites faster than most browsers. Is this not a fact? Firefox also has all this but only after addons and that was the point i was trying to make.

And yes i said most not all. So a bit of sense should tell you i was not talking about you. This is a public forum after all not a one on one chat. And i also said everybody likes his own browser otherwise he would not use it. It's sad to hear of fnb not working can't test it now but on mini it seemed to working but i'll check the desktop browser tomorow.

No need to take my whole post as a direct statement to you. Okay may have frased my first point wrongly. Let's rather say opera has better out of the box functionality. of the things you mention there, the only one i found of benefit was the ad blocking out of the box. for the rest I use standalone. Even with FF I don't load addons where they are available. With FF again I have no use for user agent switching. Sites work no matter how badly they are coded. As for the fact part are you referring to speed? If so again you are stating something without backing it up.

And yes my point again if fnb does not support standards get another bank. There loss not yours i'm pretty sure any other banks can offer you a better deal. And yes i said most not all.
well fnb was chosen because they offered me the best dealout of all the banks. so money talks in that instance. certainly more than web standards.

So a bit of sense should tell you i was not talking about you.

as for the bit of sense, i believe i was the only to mention sites not working with Opera which you replied to. I also touched on Opera performance which your reply alluded to. But you are right, a bit of sense should clearly have indicated to me that your post was not influenced by mine.

And i also said everybody likes his own browser otherwise he would not use it.

I have no problem with this statement.

If you're going to punt a firefox extension foxmarks really isn't the one (even though i have it installed) - rather ad block plus. best extension EVAR!

look at opera and it's not bad, but don't like the way it looks or it's layout.i'll stick to FireFox

For a while ABSA internet banking was not working on my opera... (It used to work and then after some upgrade it did not work until they upgraded the site again)
