Unboxing:
The Synology DS218+ comes in a neat little box with a carry handle.
The contents of the box.
Installing the drives, is extremely easy with the tool-less design.
Setting up the NAS for first use:
The NAS has an extremely easy to use URL that allows you to find the NAS on your network once connected to your router or Switch.
You are given full control of how you want the NAS to update.

My Main use was going to be using the NAS as a plex server, so I was concerned at how easy this would be to setup. In a word, extremely. The NAS has a “Package Centre” Which allows you to download all available applications for the device. It was as simple as finding plex in the list of products, installing it, running it. I am extremely impressed!

Would personally recommend this NAS to anyone wanting to do away with the need for a bulky desktop to run Plex off.

- Expandable RAM slot.
- Tool-less design.
- Only has 1 NIC.
