I recently posted a thread about my computer crashing and i said that the problem had been fixed but unfortuanatly it isnt. when i play GTA IV my system seems to crash to a blue screen.

the error code i get is:

BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA80041D84E0
BCP2: FFFFF88011FABD50
BCP3:000000000000000
BCP4: 000000000000002
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product768_1

Problem Signature:
Problem Event Name: Blue Screen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

Does anybody know what this means?
Is it to do with my graphics card or GTA IV?

Thanks

... System Specs?

Motherboard: Asus Crosshair IV Formula 890FX/SB50

Nvidia 8600GT 1GB graphics Card.
PSU: Arctic Power 700 watt.
HDD: Western Digital Cavier Black 500GB.
Antec 300 computer case.

I will look into those forums, thanks.

Nom Nom, I have a stock cpu heatsink and fan with 3 additional system case fans and a GFX fan, it runs at about 38 - 45 idle and about 56 when game is running. my GFX does go up to 61 sometimes. could that be a prob?

Thanks RaptorSA, will look into that.

I'd be surprised if it's not just driver issues.
Mine was caused by a driver installed by an open source VPN client (Shrewsoft) on Win7 x64.
What totally freaked me out was that a week before it started happening my flatmates drunk sister dumped half her drink on my notebook (yes boys and girls, she dumped HALF her drink on a brand new R21K Gaming Notebook that I use primarily for work). Luckily the only casualty was the keyboard, but obviously I freaked out... that site helped a lot in putting my mind at ease.

(On a side-note: Do you have any idea how silly it looks typing on a R75 Genius keyboard plugged in to a black monster-like Asus gaming notebook?! ...hehe)

I would have slapped her silly....:D

On what settings is the game? i think that it was the porting problem from console to pc that screwed the game up.

Exactly, but the worst part is I was asleep when it happened so when I got up the following day she was gone... not even a SMS to say sorry. Needless to say, I now have random anger related twitches and subconscious issues, not to mention a deeply seated urge to dismember a certain little blond girl.

WUUUUSSAAAAAAAAAAA..... :wtf:

I updated my GFX driver a week ago

I have had to put it on the lowest, they really did mess GTA up but it worked fine on my older computer with windows xp. could it just be that it isnt windows 7 compatible?

ok you can rule out overheating, must be software related. :)

The the BSOD is obviously being caused by the game it's self. :wtf: good luck
