I'm currently in Las Vegas and I've been having trouble browsing non-HTTPS webpages via my tethered Android phone on T-mobile network.
I then thought it was some kind of TTL expiry issue, because to myBB, it is 30 hops!
After trying other websites, I noticed that HTTPS sites work, and also PPTP VPN, but websites didn't work from my PC, while it still worked on my phone.
Now I'm forced to set my user agent to like an Android one, eg. "Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 4.2.2; Nexus 4 Build/JDQ39) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome"
Interestingly, I couldn't find any mentioning of this problem on the Internet, except for that tethering is "blocked" on their unlimited plans and then people use VPN's to bypass it.
The $3/day plan that I'm on has "unlimited web" per day, but after 200MB it gets throttled - so perhaps this is the same plan they're referring to
