I cannot help wondering (being sceptical) about HP's real strategy with webOS and hardware. They announce that they will stop producing webOS hardware ... then sells the TouchPad "soos soetkoekies" in a fire sale ... and then say they are considering continuing the hardware route. This might all have been a very clever marketing stunt. Now the TouchPad has more traction than expected.

As Elimentals often stated ... make the damn things cheaper and it will get traction.

You might be right in that patent troll's only go after big boys and in this case it reads diffrent to what you mean, ie: WebOS was not big enough to go after with patent suites just yet.

You are right. As they get bigger they will draw fire.

The more I look at this industry the more I see the Chinese running away with it. The Americans are masters at marketing (what these Chinese manufacturers need). So ... Chinese company ties up with US marketing giant ... and we have serious competition.

I am starting to wonder it as well, if this was not HP's tactics. 1st they said they will continue to bring out OTA updates* and now they even starting up factory floors again**. What gives, surely end of life means stop everything, not plan a new phone***
