Tablet comparisson

Does anyone know how long the battery life of the ipad vs the blackberry because the choice will soon need to be made :D. I saw the battery in apple products is pretty special.

I don't know about the blackberry's but the 10 hrs claimed by apple is pretty realistic.

I think the original iPad has too many flaws?

Off the top of my head no flash, proprietry ports, no SD card, no camera, slow at rendering, no widescreen and a host of other irritations. That said - it had an 'i' before it, so it sold in droves!

IPad 2 looks like its fixed some issues and should be decent - though I'm probably going with BB as I have a BB

There really isn't any competition to the iPad2 atm. BB Playbook, HP Slate, Xoom, Galaxy 10.2... none of them offer anything even close to the iPad's ecosystem and user experience. Samsung even decided to go back to the drawing books when it was debuted.

*Me wonders if the iPad / BB Playbook have replaceable batteries*

Disadvantage of iPxxx = non-replaceable battery by user & battery lifespan is limited to about 1-1,5years

Really?
No flash support on Ipad.
No 4G
No BIS/BES
Dual core support?
You're not hoping that you'll still be able to only pay r59 pm and use that connection with your playbook are you?

BB has a pretty decent ecosystem - I have both an iPhone and an iPhone 3G as well as a BB Torch. I stopped using the iPhone(s) cos it got annoying with the locked in ecosystem and the poor battery lifespan.

Just my experience with the two manufacturers...

The battery is better on newer iPhones. Old phone is old. :p

I'll just leave this here:

Since watching video is only a small part of what i use a tablet for I think a 4:3 aspect ratio is a lot more versatile than a 16:9.

Being an iDevice means it fits into my long standing Eco system easier than anything else. One reason why the iPhone was so well received by Mac owners is because few other manufacturers made the effort to accommodate their needs, instead they focused their efforts on windows users. Syncing other phones was a nightmare before the iPhone came around.
