Hello

My daughter asked me very nicely after showing her report card to fixed her tablet which is now quite long in the tooth. I would like suggestion for reasonably quality tablet at about R3000.00. I dont really follow the tablet market, so dont want to overpay for something which is of poor quality.

Are you open to the 2nd hand market? Could probably get something quite a bit better vs new that way?

A bit more expensive, but FNB has the IPad 9th gen WiFi for R199x24. Works out cheaper than buying cash.

We originally had 8 inch tablets for our girls. Thing 1 then wanted a phone to take nice photos. Bought a Xiaomi 9C with a tough case and she's never been happier. Followed suit with Thing 2. There's more bang for buck in phones compared to tablets.

Do NOT buy a kindle fire kids edition.
Absolute POS. Extremely slow and the amazon ecosystem sucks compared to android.

Does/will your kid's school require students to have a tablet? If so do they offer any guidelines?

How about this?

Edit: I see most shops have them going for R2500 currently.

I recently got one of these for my kids and it's pretty good bang for buck. You'll sometimes get them unboxed for 2k on takealot. I see there is currently one for 2k but it will be gone soon...

Check this out on takealot: Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (T220) 8.7" 32GB Wi-Fi Tablet

Also remember to get a good cover and screen protector.

I only need mine once in every blue moon. It's a Dixon which I got from Cash Crusaders for 1.5k earlier this year. It serves it's purpose well.

from experience with a teenage daughter .a tablet .a phone .a laptop and a pc is only just enough .oh and plenty data because they are all active at the same time .one more thing tablets break easier than phones especially when skateboarding while watching videos .

My kids view more content on their tablets than they do on the 42" TVs in their rooms.

EDIT - On the other hand I doubt they use their have-to-have laptops for more than 10 hours a year

She is preteen, but noted.
