my daughter at that age had a Lenovo 8 inch tablet .brilliant little machine .she really hammered that thing .that was 7 yrs ago and it still works .android 4 .4 still .

It’s not a patch on Apple but it’s not bad.

But Amazon’s system works really well across the tablets and Kindles and the subscription service which I don’t believe Google has.

If Apple just offered a more kid-friendly tablet both in physical aspects and pricing I would have done that instead and used the Amazon Kids+ on there.

Kids+ included with the tablet makes it so cheap that you can pretty much replace them every two years for virtually the cost of the service.

My biggest annoyance with Amazon version is there’s no app on iOS for it.

Hello. looking for a basic Android Tablet that I can load programs on and also some teaching apps etc for school when they are older Was looking at the Amazon Fire for Kids but seems limited and want to have it for a while . Have a Samsung Tab a7 and that seems ok and good screen size and battery but we use that so looking for a second one So any suggestions just to keep Junior quiet for a while to try and get some peace and quiet if there is such a thing

Hoping other parents can help! Got a long flight coming up and want to keep the little one entertained with the shows she likes on Plex. Have used my phone up until now but figure a bigger screen would be beneficial. An iPad would be the obvious choice, but even the Mini is a pricey bit of kit. Amazon Fire HD Kids tablets are currently reduced, but I'm seeing horror stories of ads, cluttered home screens that can't be customised, and brutally sluggish performance. Does anyone have any experience of a good kids tablet exclusively for Plex viewing? And if so, what would you recommend?

My kids have Plex on their Fire's and it runs no issue.

You'll definitely want to buy extra storage though.

While it's no iPad I've never found it to be sluggish and the lack of home screen customization is intentional and part of the Kids mode.

You could run it without kids mode...but that seems silly.
